Chicken Socks Short Stuffs: You Had Me At “No Sew”

Chicken Socks is a special line of products for little kids from Klutz and Short Stuffs:Create Your Own New-Sew Stuffed Animals ($17) is their latest offering. I sat down with my 3-year-old son, Finn (even though it says it’s for 4+) and he really had fun with the kit. Together we picked an animal out of the book and figured out which accessories we needed to Velcro on to recreate it. First we opened the mouth and shoved in several squishy, green pillows for stuffing. Then Finn added ears, tails and even wings to make the creatures come alive. I thought he’d take issue with dismembering his new friends to make more, but Mama was wrong again. Pulling the little critters limb from limb turned out to be half the fun. 

This one’s definitely going in "Mama’s Bag of Tricks" for the flight to Grandma’s at Christmas.
