Tom Cruise Says ‘It’s a Beautiful Time’

Tom Cruise says that when it comes to fashion, his 2 ½-year-old daughter Suri often has an opinion — and she isn’t afraid to express it! What’s more, while walking the red carpet last night at the New York City premiere of his new film Valkyrie, Tom said Suri is "very insistent" about not only her own wardrobe but that of mom Katie Holmes as well. "She’ll tell you…Oh yeah, she’ll tell you," Tom, 46, said. "We went to some huge event and Suri was insistent that Kate wear these blue shoes."
As he has stated previously, the couple haven’t made much progress when it comes to getting their daughter out of her beloved dresses, however. "[One] morning, Kate got her into a pair of pants, but they don’t last long," Tom revealed. That Suri’s every move is now documented by paparazzi is an inescapable fact of life for the couple, who harbor no regrets about the manner with which they introduced their daughter to the world. When asked about posing with Suri on the cover of Vanity Fair, Tom said,
"Well…what choice did I have? We didn’t let pictures out at first, and there was a bit of an outcry. It’s our life, and I don’t know what else to do about it."
Despite her lavish wardrobe, it sounds as though Suri’s favorite gifts under Christmas tree will not be unlike the favorite gifts of most children — books! Tom says the couple have "a lot of them" because their daughter "loves to hear stories." She also likes to tell them. "Then she’ll get the books and kind of read the stories to us by looking at the pictures," he explained. "It’s a beautiful time."
In addition to Suri, Tom is dad to Isabella Jane, turning 16 next week, and Connor Antony 13 ½, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
Valkyrie opens Dec. 25.

I think it is adorable about Suri being so taken with dresses – my two princesses are like that and it is gorgeous. I always get comments when we go out. I think Katie and Tom do a great job in dressing Suri – she always looks like a real little girl in her pretty dresses and shoes and because they all grow up so fast, it is nice to dress them up while they still let you.

Anyway, i don’t get what all the fuss is about pants or trousers here in the UK. OK she doesn’t lik etrousers big wow so what? let her wear dresses and skirts then!
my daughter doesnt wear trousers either, she has a wardrobe full of princess type clothes and i dont see the problem, you are only small once and if they like it its doing no harm…
Its not like my daughter would be climbing trees if she was in pants, she cant get her dolls pram up there!!!
