Christina Aguilera ‘Looking Forward’ to Baby #2!

Although Christina Aguilera grew up with an abusive father who was largely absent from her life, she says she harbors no doubts about husband Jordan Bratman’s abilities as a father to the couple’s 11 ½-month-old son Max Liron. What’s more, the 28-year-old songstress tells The Observer that for her, one has nothing to do with the other. “I think Jordan is such an incredible father and, you know, whether or not anything would ever happen to us, I know that he would still always be very much a part of Max’s life.” Calling Jordan her “rock,” Christina says that parenthood has only strengthened the bonds of her marriage, for the “little one” is “a constant reminder” of their love for one another. She adds,

“It’s…also a work in progress because you’re constantly growing as people. It can be very challenging. It can be incredible and exciting. I got lucky. I have a great husband — he’s really supportive and, ah, I look forward to the next [baby].”

Christina and Jordan were married in 2005.

  1. Erinn Says:

Well, its nice she has it planned out if her marriage doesn’t work, thats responsible.

  2. Mia Says:

I’m really happy for her. I’m not a huge fan of her public persona, or he majority of her music, although I think she has an incredible voice, and I do like one or two of her songs.

I’m very happy she has a great relationship with her husband, and found someone she can really be a partner with, and more so is greater with their child being present.

I bet we’ll be hearing a few pregnancy announcements from people in the new year :)

  3. Nicole Says:

Max is adorable, and he favors Christinas looks so far. He’s not seen as often as other babies, but hes one of the cutest.

  4. Gabrielle Says:

Aahh….. Let the bump obsessions begin!

Honestly, I hope (but doubt) she will get more privacy with her second (and subsequent) pregnancies.

  5. babyboopie Says:

I absolutely adore Christina as a person and as a mother. She is very in love with Jordan and Max. Her boys are too cute! Can’t wait to see her second child, because I know he/she will be as beautiful as Max is!

  6. mel Says:

    max is sooo cute!
i bet the next one will be as cute as him.

  7. UggaMugga.com Says:

I’d say that was either an intentional or accidental slip…but that she spoke truth on having another baby…soon. Her and Jordan seem like wonderful parents and very much in love. I’ll enjoy watching this family grow!

  8. Annabel Says:

You know, when I think about it, it wouldn’t surprise me if we received a pregnancy announcement from Christina in the new year. It all fits. There’s usually 3-4 years between her albums, but she released a greatest hits album only 2 years later. There was talk of her record label pushing her to do so, but I think it could also have to do with the fact that it allows her to take her time making another full-length album and have another child, all the while keeping people from complaining about not hearing any new music from her. And didn’t she say she wanted her first two children to be close in age? Yeah I think we can expect another Aguilera-Bratman in ‘09. Mind you, this is just a theory… ;)

  9. CelebBabyLover Says:

Aren’t women supposed to wait until 18-24 months after having a C-section (like Christina did) to get pregnant again?

  10. CelebBabyLover Says:

Oh, and Annabel, I highly doubt Christina will make an announcement when she gets pregnant again. With Max, she didn’t offically confirm until she was seven months in!

  11. Silvermouse Says:

lol. .. Gabrielle, that’s what I was thinking. . . maybe we should wait for an announcement or just let Christina and Jordan do what they want. I hate it how Paris Hilton announced it when Chrstina was pregnant with Max. So distasteful.

  12. bekalynn Says:

Erinn, I know what Christina meant when she made that comment about her marriage and I actually agree with her. My husband and I *hope* for forever, but as we can’t predict the future, we just don’t know. It doesn’t mean we think our marriage is doomed, it just means we are realistic about our versions of ‘together.’

I just love Christina and her family. I would be so happy for her when she chooses to add another little one.

  13. L Says:

CelebBabyLover, that’s outdated. The most common current recommendation is that women wait 12 months before becoming pregnant again to allow the uterus to heal completely. Although, it will depend on the doctor you talk to, some will even say 3-6 months. It’s about making the best decision for you and your family.

  14. Mary-Helen Says:

Christina is so mature and I love Max! He is too sweet!

Christina & Jordan seem to have such a mature look @ the world and how they parent their son and I’m guessing that was not a freudian slip and Christina will be making an announcement soon enough.

  15. Terri Says:

Max is adorable and really favors both his parents. I’m a huge fan of Christina’s and thrilled about the happiness she has found with Jordan, he seems like a great guy.
