"My baby self weaned despite me trying to keep up the nursing! I find it so refreshing to hear Gwen talk about how hard she works to lose weight and keep herself in top shape. She looks great and has a beautiful family."

“I sit there and play princesses with my daughter, and I never told her anything about a princess, ever. Whereas I go to my brother’s house, and he’s got two boys…I walk in the front door, and I instantly get punched in the nuts.”

Tamzin Outhwaite Not Feeling Pressured To Lose Weight

Maternity leave is over for Tamzin Outhwaite! The 38-year-old recently returned to the set of the UK series The Fixer, her first job since welcoming daughter Florence Elsie in June, and expressed gratitude to have enjoyed such an extended break from acting. “[Husband] Tom [Ellis] and I both had a few months of not working and just being around her, which was just a godsend,” Tamzin explains. “Watching her in those stages, you can never get that back.” While mommy is working, Florence is in the capable hands of her father, who is aided by a nanny. “We’re in a privileged position to be able to afford a bit of help,” Tamzin says. “I think there are far busier women that juggle [work and family].”

“[Tom] is very hands-on and has no qualms about getting his hands dirty, he’s pretty much the ideal husband…But the good thing is it’s only for 12 weeks. Then, if I wanted to, I could take a couple of months off again and let Tom have a go, or whatever.”

The role didn’t demand that Tamzin shed every last ounce of baby weight, which is a good thing because exercise was low on her list of priorities after becoming a new first-time mom. “I possibly haven’t given myself the amount of pressure I should have done, but I didn’t want to stop hanging out with my daughter because I was too busy at the gym,” she says. Adding that she’s aiming to lose the weight “really slowly,” Tamzin says she’s keeping things in perspective. “I never had cellulite before I had a baby, which I thought was pretty good going for 37 years.”

Despite her ease with her postpartum body, Tamzin was not so at ease with that body when it was still pregnant. “It’s just weird when something else inhabits your body,” she notes. “Everything changes, your skin, your teeth, your nails – and your hormones just run riot.” Still, she is eager to do it all over again — someday!

“The experience hasn’t put me off having more children. It’s so funny, when you get married, everyone asks ‘When are you going to have a child?’ Then you have a child and everyone asks ‘Are you going to have any more?’ and you think, I’ve just had her! I’d like to get out of my maternity body first!”

Florence is the first child for Tamzin and the second for Tom, who is already father to Nora, 3 ½.

Good for her for not losing the post pregnancy weight! I bet losing this too quickly may do damage than good in the future for the celeb mums

  2. Sammy-xx Says:

They were so cute together on All Star Mr and Mrs. I had no idea Tom has another child so young. They’ve been together for quite a while.
Florence is a beauty, they are a very beautiful family.
