Cate Blanchett Embraces the Chaos

A mother to three little boys – Dashiell John, 7, Roman Robert, 4 ½, and Ignatius ‘Iggy’ Martin, 8 months, – Cate Blanchett is unsure of whether her pregnancy days are experiences to be left in the past. Gracing the cover of February’s issue of Vanity Fair, Cate admits she is reluctant to “close those doors,” despite acknowledging that the “world is so overpopulated.” Any future babies — that are certain to be adorable, as the couple “do make nice ones” — will most likely take after their father Andrew Upton, as according to the actress, she has yet to have a child resemble her! “They all look like Andrew. To say he has dominant genes would be an understatement,” jokes Cate.
Whether more children are in the plans or not, Cate is enjoying her time balancing her successful career with the responsibilities of motherhood and is thankful to have the opportunity to simply pack up the kids — who are “part of everything we do” – and bring them along for the ride! “Fortunately the kids can come into the theater; it’s very child-friendly,” says the Australian native. However, while her routine may be flexible, Cate, 39, has learned to embrace the sudden changes in life, sharing she doesn’t “mind the chaos” that comes along with being a mother.
“As your life becomes more populated with little people, you have to adapt, but I’ve never been frightened of change.”

I agree Mia, I’d like to see her one more, a little girl would be nice and she seems such a down to earth, calm kind of person. She seems to handle everything with grace.

Same. I’d like her to have another but I don’t have to raise them! I think Ignatius is a great name.

I think they should have a few more! Anyone can handle especially with the help of a celebrity! I also love the name Ignatius and totally admire that saint!
