Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon Totes Her Twins

Crenshaw Mafia/Splash News Online

Talk about heavy lifting! Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon has her hands full with a tot on each arm while shopping at the farmer’s market on Sunday in California.

Fraternal twins Jaid Thomas (l) and Jax Joseph (r) each made mom smile during the trip. The boys are Garcelle’s sons with husband Mike Nilon.

Garcelle, 42, is also mother to son Oliver, 18, from a previous marriage. She recently explained that having children in her 40s has made her a more mature mom.

“I feel like I am more woman now. I also have more patience and I don’t sweat the small stuff as much!”

Jaid wears Stride Rite’s Rio in Red/Grey while Jax wears the same shoe in Navy/Galaxy Blue ($50). Garcelle wears Swank Mommy’s Birthstone Discs ($60), which she received as part of the boys’ It’s Fun to Be One giftbag.

they are adorable! i love jaid’s hair.

  2. NatashaC Says:

They are SOO adorable. I had a question that I hope nobody takes offensively, is it common that bi-racial twins look different “shades”? I’ve always thought that Jaid looked lighter skinned than Jax. Of course it doesn’t really matter, I was just curious.

  3. Something About Baby Says:

I love her big broad smile. She looks like a very happy mother with her two cuties.

  4. shannon Says:

Natashac-if they are fraternal then they can be lighter/darker then the other, there was a story a few months ago about a bi-racial couple having 2 sets of frat twins where one was white and the other was black.

  5. Jojo'sgirl Says:

It’s common with Black babies (whether mixed race or not). I was a fraternal twin-my sister passed away when we were 17. One of us had my father’s complexion (more chocolate brown). The other had my mother’s complexion (more cocoa butter brown). And I see that all the time with fraternal twins in our race. I don’t think it’s a dumb question and I don’t think anyone should take offense. Especially with stories like the one out of London where one multiracial baby comes out looking White and the other comes out looking Black.

  6. melania Says:

My husband is mixed black/white/latino and I am arab/white and our children are all colors of the rainbow. One is darker than my husband and one is lighter than most whites I have ever seen. The other 2 fall in the middle.

  7. NatashaC Says:

Thanks everyone! I think it’s really interesting how that just happens, very cool. I do remember those twins Shannon, but I also figured that was really rare! :)

Jojo, I’m sorry about your sister!

  8. Gianna Says:

Those twins are so adorable, love their complexion and hair. They both favor their dad more in my opinion.

  9. Nina Says:

They are SO cute. I think Jaid looks just like Garcelle, especially with them both smiling side by side.

  10. CelebBabyLover Says:

AWWW! Jax reminds me of a younger Kingston Rossdale!

  11. Karen Says:

She’s is beautiful and those kids SO CUTE – where is her necklace from?

  12. Kate Says:

It really depends on genetics. I have blonde straight hair, blue eyes and the palest white skin you can remember. I burn in the sun in five minutes. I look like a complete irish white girl. My father is Irish/Scottish and my mom is Ethiopian and German. Now my younger sister she looks more like my mom. She has my mom’s dark, curly hair and her skin is dark. She also has my mom’s wonderful height and build. When we tell people we are full-blooded sisters they think we are crazy and adopted. Yet if you stand and stare at us for a while, facially we look a like just different colors.

  13. simms Says:

    They are just tooo cute!!!

  14. FC Says:

I love these boys. But I don’t know how Garcelle carries both at the same time. Maybe that’s how she keeps her arms so buff…;)

  15. EliMtl73 Says:

I’m a bi-racial (dad is African & mom is French-canadian) and also a fraternal twin, me & my twin sister have different skin tone (she is darker than me) also my yougest sister as almost the same dark skin tone than my half-sister who is not bi-racial (both parent are African)

  16. Tee Says:

I knew Garcelle growing up in Miami. We worked on a few episodes of Miami Vice together. I am sure she is Haitian heritage. She was always a really nice girl…unlike some other gals we encountered on the set!!

  17. Emmy Says:
