Julie Bowen Expecting Twin Boys!

For use on CBB

When she announced her pregnancy in early November, Julie Bowen stayed mum on the details, including when the baby would be arriving. CBB can now confirm that she’s due to give birth in April — and it’s twin boys!

The former Boston Legal and Ed actress let the news slip at giggle’s Pasadena store opening (that’s her with founder Ali Wing at left) on Tuesday evening, and her rep confirms the good news to CBB/PEOPLE.

These will be the second and third children for Julie, 39 and husband Scott Phillips. The twins will join big brother Oliver McLanahan, 22 months.

  3. Marilyn Says:

Twin boys in April — just like Brooke Sheen (although Brooke might have them in March by the looks of her). She IS brave.

  4. Victoria Says:

    More TWINS! Wow!

  5. CTBmom Says:

Wow, how exciting for her! She will have her hands wonderfully full!

  6. brooklyn Says:

    Congrats! Double the fun!

  7. brannon Says:

So jealous! very exciting! As an “oliver” mommy myself i can’t wait to see what she names them…(That’s two celeb mommies with olivers who had twin boys…maybe i will get lucky)

  8. NatashaC Says:

Woowww more twins! I feel like there have been so many in the past year or two.

  9. martie Says:

More twins? Really? IVF? Or what’s in the water in Hollywood?

  10. Sara Says:

As a mother to identical twin boys…there is nothing like it in the world…congrats!

  11. Bugs Says:

I guess now the odd and strange thing is to have one kid at a time. Congrats.

  12. Anne Says:

All these twin babies that are being born-are they naturally conceived or via intro?

  13. bre Says:

I knew only six sets of twins growing up, I was born in ‘81. All of these twins and mega-multiples just aren’t exciting to me.

Congrats to Julie and her family.

  14. eternalcanadian Says:

wow, another set of twins. goodness, whatever is in the l.a. water that everyone seems to be having twins? good luck to julie and Scott.

  15. Anna Says:

Pretty soon twins will be nothing special anymore! Every class will have at least 2 sets of twins.

Most of these twins are not conceived naturally, but the chance of multiples also goes up the older the woman gets. And women are having babies later in general. I think most people you see havning twins now or around 40 years old.

  16. krewcat Says:

    CONGRATS!!!! Thats so great!!!

Just for the record everyone jumps ont he IVF bandwagon…IVF usually is the last resort. I would bet moreover that some were conceived naturally, with clomid or with IUI or a combo of clomid/IUI.

  17. cara Says:

i sort of wish she was having two girls or a boy and a girl…anyway, these two boys will be just precious…i adore julie

  18. Marilyn Says:

I was just thinking that there will be three sets of twins born around the same time: Julie Bowen, Brooke Sheen and Jenna Jameson, maybe all in April since Julie and Brooke are due in April and Jenna is due May 3. Even if Brooke is early, they will still be fairly close. I wonder what the sex of Jenna’s twins are.

  19. Wendy Says:

Who cares if it’s IVF or conceived naturally? It’s her kids, and I know she’ll love them and raise them well. Congrats to the happy family!

  20. CelebBabyLover Says:

krewcat- Good point! I’m guessing some twins in Hollywood are concieved completely naturally, some with Clomid or other fertility drugs, some with IUI, some with a combination of IUI and fertility drugs, and others with IVF. In otherwords, it’s probably a mix! :)

With Julie, she may well have had fertility treatments given her age, but with her other son being so little, maybe these are identical twins who were concieved naturally!

  21. madison Says:

Even if a woman isn’t in need of any fertility assistance, the incidence of multiples (fraternal) still goes up with her age. I read somewhere that the rate of twins is doubled between the ages of 35-40 – not including any outside facators (clomid etc)

  22. Stephany Says:

Aw, congrats! I have twin cousins and I saw how much work they were when they were a baby…I couldn’t imagine adding a toddler to the mix! She and her husband are going to be very, very busy! :)

  23. JM Says:

More twins! Wow I’m exhausted reading about twins!

Well as an aunt of twin boys….GOOD LUCK!! :)

  24. Emily Says:

Holy moly. Good luck to her! Haha.

  25. Judith Says:

Congrats!! I love the name Oliver!!

  26. pyjammy Says:

aw, yay for her! i have bbb triplets, one of whom is named oliver, so i’m esp excited for her. :)
