Cat Cora handily sliced and diced her way to becoming Iron Chef America’s first and only female Iron Chef in 2005. But her first pregnancy has been no piece of cake. “I’m not very comfortable,” Cat, 41, told Life & Style during a visit to Santa Barbara, Calif., where she has a recently renovated home. “It’s a big transition for me — I’m like a fish out of water.”

Luckily, she’s not going it alone: Cat’s wife, Jennifer, 37, just gave birth to son Thatcher Julius this past Saturday.

“The first baby will be 3-months-old when it’s my turn in July,” Cat explains. “We decided to have them almost as twins because I travel so much and Jen can breastfeed both.” Jen, a homemaker, is thrilled to be sharing the experience with Cat.

Jen gave birth to the couple’s first two sons, Zoran, 5, and Caje, 2. “We were a little scared going through the hormones together — that’s a lot of emotion,” Jen tells Life & Style. “But it worked because we have such a strong relationship.”

Cat, who is partnering with Disney World to open Kouzzina, a new Mediterranean-style restaurant in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., couldn’t agree more. “It just makes us more supportive of each other,” she says. “We share maternity clothes and cravings!”

While Cat’s been salivating over spicy foods, cheeses, breads, tomato sauces and cupcakes, she also takes time to whip up goodies for her sweetie. “Cat makes me the most delicious pasta and carrot cake all the time,” Jen says.

Not on the menu? More buns in the oven for this full house of two moms, soon-to-be four sons and two Chihuahuas. “I grieved that we weren’t having a girl for about an hour,” says Cat. “But we love the boys. They take care of their mamas, so in the end we couldn’t be happier.”

  1. His Mama Says:

not to be mean….but whos who?!?!?!

  2. Alice Says:

His Mama, I was going to ask the same thing and I don’t think that’s mean. I had never heard of Cat or her partner until recently and can’t recall which gal is which!

  3. Sam Says:

Since Jennifer already gave birth, she is clearly on the right, since she looks much farther along.

  4. Anna Says:

His Mama… I was just going to ask the same thing!

  5. Kate Says:

    Cat is the shorter woman.

  6. mslewis Says:

I’m sitting here wearing the exact same jeans Cat is wearing!!! Only, I’m not preggers!!!

I love Cat on Iron Chef. She’s so cool and calm and focused. It’s funny to watch. Congrats to her and her Lady Love!!!

  7. Alex Says:

I wish my husband could breastfeed!

  8. Brooklyn Says:

Yep, Cat is the one in the jeans. Congrats to them.

  9. eternalcanadian Says:

So cool they are having four boys. Interesting comment about Cat traveling and Jennifer breastfeeding both babies. Can’t Cat pump her milk or take the baby with her when traveling? Just seemed curious that comment as babies travel very well as evident with the Jolie-Pitt family.

  10. Amy Says:

They are such a cute couple! And cute boys too!

  11. Danielle Milstead Says:

Congrats to Cat and Jen. May they enjoy full nights of sleep soon, but that isn’t going to happen with two newborns in the house. :) Good luck and I can’t wait to see her on Iron Chef more. She is my all time favorite chef.

  12. A Says:

How is Caje pronounced? I looked it up but it is not in any name sites.

  13. MZ Says:

A, my guess is like Cage.

  14. Stepha Says:

I think it could be pronounced like Kai. I know a guy name Caj and it rhymes with Guy…..he is Swedish.

  15. Michelle Machado Says:

Is it just me, or does Zoran seem really tall for 5? I know Cat is short, but…

  16. Katy Says:

Okay. We live a few blocks from them (i.e., same grocery store, same drug store, same parks, same coffee shops) and we have a 5-month-old baby named Thatcher.

I think that they may have ‘borrowed’ it.

  17. D Says:

I love Cat! Yay for both mamas! She is right, being 3 months between the babies they are totally like little twinnies!

Good for them for deciding to both little boys bfed! I struggled to feed 1 for a year! Can’t imagine two!

Also, I laughed a little at Cat’s “grieved for a girl for about an hour” comment. I think I did the same thing when I found out we are having another little boy. But I agree, boys are wicked fun and do love their mamas, so YAY for 4 boys!

  18. Leigh Says:

I’m pretty sure that Cat is the one in the pink dress and Jennifer is the one wearing jeans, guys.

    What an adorable family.

Other way around! Jen is in pink and Cat is in jeans. The photo is a few weeks old so Jen hadn’t delivered yet.

    Congratulations to Cat and Jen!
I have been a Cat Cora fan for the longest time. She is a dynamite chef and she is a wonderful person. I find that because she is in the STARLIGHT she and her wife Jen get a little bit of extra attention that isn’t necessary. Who cares about what they named their latest addition and who breastfeeds whom. They are both wonderful MOMS who adore their children and each other and that is all that matters. I wish them all the best with their 4 healthy boys. Godbless
