Jerry and Rebecca Take the Twins Out in Toronto
While in the city filming her new series Eastwick, Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell took their fraternal twin daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, 3 ½ months, out for a walk in Toronto on Monday.
While Rebecca works, Jerry (and an occasional nanny) watches the girls. “I watch the kids at work. It’s good – they like coming to another place. Although, she had a kissing scene today, and it must have been weird for the other actor, to know she has kids and a husband nearby,” Jerry jokes.

Jerry pushes a Double Decker Twin Stroller ($295). The girls are in Graco SnugRide infant car seats ($160) in Platinum with Itzy Ritzy Baby Ritzy Rider infant car seat covers ($110) in Leopard and Fuchsia Minky Dot. (Please note that manufacturers recommend against using third-party accessories with their car seats.)

What kind of stroller/frame is that? From the picture, it looks like a lawn mower, LOL.
April 15th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
I’ve never seen a stroller like that. It looks like one is on top of the other. Kind of neat – unless of course the one on top falls on the bottom one.
she looks great after having twins.

April 15th, 2009 at 5:55 pm
ha michelle i thought the exact same!
April 15th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
These two are becoming my fav’s. I think they are so cute and cool!
April 15th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
I believe they are using the double decker stroller for twins: http://www.doubledeckerstroller.com/index.shtml
April 15th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
ohh – I need to know what stroller that is! I’m due with twins in 11 week and at a glance – this looks way more maneuverable than a snap n go….
April 15th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
As mom with infant twins, I am DYING to know what kind of stroller that it.
April 15th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
That is an awesome stroller!!
April 15th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Please tell me they didn’t buy custom car seat covers from a company other than Graco (those look like Graco seats.)
April 15th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
I guess she changed her mind about taking six months off.
That’s an interesting stroller. I’ve never seen one like that before.
April 15th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
Forget the stroller! Look at that great handbag!
April 15th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Rebecca — it looks like those are custom seats. I honestly don’t think most people are aware that when you add anything to a carseat that is “aftermarket” or in other words, wasn’t specifically made for that seat BY that brand, the warranty on your seat is completely voided.
April 15th, 2009 at 9:24 pm
That stroller looks so uncomplicated, looks great!

OMG!!! I LOVE those covers!! I have the same one!! I got it at http://www.itzyritzy.com…try my coupon code for 20% off…use promo code APPLE at http://www.itzyritzy.com – I hope it works for you! I’m so excited to see that I’m like a celeb!!

I am not really a fan of the stroller. I like mommy-facing strollers/carriages for infants and although not a mom of twins, I would probably like them side by side instead of stacked/double deckered….but I must say it does look rather easy to manuever.
April 16th, 2009 at 3:04 am
Momta2 I agree about Mommy-facing strollers. I prefer them, too. But I have yet to find the first twin-stroller which is mommy-facing.
April 16th, 2009 at 6:11 am
if I had two infants I’d definetly consider this option, it looks like its easy enough to put together, and manuever when you want to shop in a store or just walk. I had a hard time finding a stroller that was light and easy for me to handle on my own with my two girls. I ended up with a duoglider because it was 10 lbs lighter than the rest which was a seller for me lol.
I would have loved something like that with maybe an umbrella stroller like seat in the front.
Maybe you can turn the car seats both ways? Not sure but I know some that are built like this you can if you feel uncomfortable about them facing away?

Weird to see the Double Decker in action, esp by a celebrity couple. It’s not very glam at all, very utilitarian. We had the Triple Decker, but only because it’s the only triple snap n go out there. There are plenty of double snap n gos they could have used. (which, for the record, are mommy-facing. as is the peg perego duette and the kolcraft countours twin.)

Hmmm. Not keen on the buggy myself. I too like the ones that alow baby to face mummy and ones with the ability for baby to lie flat if we are walking around for a while. I see the value of this one, but I wouldn’t use it personally. Nice picture though.
April 16th, 2009 at 11:05 am
I saw them walking and totallly doing the tourist thing in Yorkville that day. Rebecca was doing the full tourist thing and talking pictures. Very cute and down to earth people.

As far as I know, there are some doubles strollers that face the parent: the Inglesina Stroller Twin Domino (http://www.inglesina.com/en/products/details.php?itemid=424§ionid=19&category=twins&product=domino-twin), the Bebe Confort Twin Club(it is not sold in the US but you can alwaystryon ebay. It can be turned into a single stroller too. http://www.elcorteingles.es/multitienda/producto/producto.asp?hddref=97673&cpam=82&tpam=scc), and the new iCandy Pear (I think it’s only sold in the US – http://www.icandyuk.com/products_detail.php?id=pear_stroller).
But none of them is side-by-side.

Those twins look so posh! Rebecca looks great too. I love the covers! So chic! I’m going to get one today for my upcoming daughter. Jill

Love, love, love those covers! I have the Leopard/pink covers on my 2 toddler seats!
April 16th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Love the car seat covers. I have several friends that have those and they rave about them. They are on their 2nd and third child and it has revived their car seats (besides the fact they are super cute). They look like a happy couple.
April 16th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I LOVE him!!mmmmmmmmmmm
April 16th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I had the Double Decker when my twins were infants and LOVED it!
It is super maneuverable, relatively light weight, really easy to travel with and has big ‘jogger’ wheels instead of the little plastic wheels on the others that have been mentioned.
I live in a city where you walk a lot and regular stroller wheels would have been a disaster.
April 16th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
They probably used that stroller because it’s easy to travel with. Remember they had to fly to Toronto!!! They prob had the girls in the seats in the plane and just snapped them in. They’re not gonna take a fancy stroller while travelling.
April 16th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
I have a question ….. have we seen the girls yet? If so can someone please tell me where I can see a picture of them.

I love the look of the car seta covers but to me safety is key, and the covers are not safe. The stroller is like a lawn mower :p

Personally, I’d get a Firstwheels Twin for twins:
http://www.firstwheels.org.uk/firstwheels-city-twin-2009-p-40.html?zenid=0cc7088c543c29ff51cea895d514cd6f
Not sure if it’s available in the US though? My friend has one for her twin girls and it’s great
April 16th, 2009 at 7:39 pm
Ruthella. I like the pictures of the strollers your posted.I think those are cute…..but my only concern is that it looks like 2 people would have to push it. I could be wrong.. but it just looks too wide for just having one person to push it.
April 16th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
I’m pretty sure the twin baby trend snap-n-go is mommy-facing.
April 17th, 2009 at 2:39 am
Seriously Jax! That was too funny! I don’t know it you are joking or not, but as someone with a lot of experience with double strollers I can tell you that I actually find side by side twin strollers easier to push since you can use a wider, and more comfortable hold on it, and because you can vary your grip, so that you don’t have to hold the stroller with your arms in the same position all the time. Since the person who pushes the stroller is alwasy somewhere in the middle (this depends on if both seats are occupied and if the children weight the same or if they are of different sizes), there is no need for two persons to push it (that would sort of ruin the concept of a double stroller anyway). Off course picturing two new parents pushing a stroller together is way cute!

Please reconsider these “cute” after market car seat covers. They are not safety crash tested with car seats and void the warranty if your car seat. Basically it’s like this: You get into an accident. Your baby gets injured or killed because your seat fails to work as it should. You go after the manufacturer for damages, pain and suffering. You lose in court because the manufacturer discovers that you had an after market car seat cover (or any after market accessory) on your seat that automatically voids your warranty a and frees them of all liabilities.
When using after market accessories you are treating your child like crash test dummy.
If you’re unsure if this is true feel free to call the manufacturer of your car seat and ask them about it yourself!

I have to agree about the car seat covers. I have never understood the purpose of spending $110 on an infant car seat cover when the Graco carseat is almost the same price. If you are that concerned with looks and feel the need to switch out covers, then buy two different seats and use them every other day or something! I mean, really, you are gambling with your kid’s life just to stay trendy. I, for one, have no desire to spend hard-earned money on useless celebrity-endorsed junk just to act like I have money and have a place in society. Take all that money you spend on unsafe products like car seat covers and donate it to help a child attend school in another country or give them potable drinking water. Really, people, image is not everything.
For those of you wondering about a reasonably priced double stroller that faces mommy, the Kolcraft Contours double stroller is very nice. It comes with one infant carseat attachment (you can buy another on-line) that you can use with many seats including Graco, Chicco, Peg Perego, Britax, Maxi Cosi, etc. and it also comes with two reversible buggy-style seats. Yes, it is long and heavy like any double stroller, but it is rugged, well-priced, turns nicely and offers a huge storage basket and cup holders. The handle is comfy too. Hope this helps!

FYI – if you want to revive your car seat, you can often order a new cover directly from the manufacturer.
April 18th, 2009 at 6:28 pm
You can always use the covers when using the carseat out of the car.
April 18th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Ana,
I VERY much doubt they’re changing the entire cover and shade every time they go out, or using one set of carseats for the car, and one for transporting into their home and for use in strollers.
