"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

Brad and Kimberly Name Son Jasper Warren Paisley

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

Update: Brad and Kimberly have chosen the name Jasper Warren Paisley for their new baby boy, who weighed in at 9 lbs., 10 oz at birth — he was 12 days late!

Warren is after Brad’s grandfather, who gave him his first guitar and encouraged him to pursue a music career.

Originally posted April 17th: It’s another boy for country singer Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley! The couple welcomed a second son this morning, Friday, April 17th, in Nashville, Tenn. A name and further details were not released.

Brad and Kimberly, 37, announced their pregnancy in October, saying they were “thrilled” to be giving 2-year-old son William ‘Huck’ Huckleberry a sibling. In fact, it was Huck who broke the big news to dad, delivering Kimberly’s positive pregnancy test to Brad! “I said, ‘No, you don’t get it. This is really bad for you and I. This isn’t gonna be fun for us for the next nine months. We’re in for it,’” the singer joked upon learning about baby number two.

The baby boy had been set to arrive on April 5th, but being overdue “wasn’t a big deal,” said Brad, 36. “There’s nothing we can do about it. Well, there is, but we’re not doing that. We’re actually probably going to miss these times when things are simple. I mean you can’t put them back!”

Yay, another little boy! It sounds like the baby’s birth went without complications and that things are good with mum and babe.

A huge congrats to Brad, Kimberly, and Huck on a precious addition to your already greatly blessed family! I am such a huge fan of Brad’s, in my opinion he epitomizes the heart and soul of what country music stands for and always will. If you haven’t been introduced to his music I highly recommend you give it a listen, even if you aren’t a country fan, it will change your life! And those who are already fans, if you have never heard “When I get to where I’m going” find it and hear it! I first heard it at a funeral and the tears just would not stop falling! Many blessings to the happy family! Kimberly, you are an awesome woman!

  73. Allena Faye Dulaney Says:

We would never stop laughing and just having fun. I am a grandma of 6 and there is nothing like babies. Congrats again.

Brad, you are a wonderful singer who I could just listen to all day, and I hope those boys have your eye lashes and eyes they are by far so dreamy. Kim you are a lucky lady! I also adore your talent as your role in Jim. I literally had to take the remote from my husband just to watch the show or whatever else you was in. Now look at you both, parents of two adorable healthy boys. We don’t need pics to know that (but you know we’re waiting for them)just look at their parents! Congradulations and a few years from now Brad, give Kim a little girl to complete your wonderful little lovenest. God Bless you all and keep you in His arms of love always.

  101. lexi Says:

i love their name! i’m just a little upset that they stole my faourite boy name:)

  102. Jane Says:

I love the name Jasper! It’s one of my favorites.

  103. Deb Says:

Great name!! I’m glad they honored Brad’s grandfather who was instrumental in getting Brad into music!! I remember something Brad said after Huck was born about Kimberly not wanting Warren as part of the baby’s name so I’m glad it’s there now!!

  104. Sam & Freya's Mum Says:

Congrats on the arrival of baby Jasper! Loved her on the Father of the Bride movies, not familiar with her hubby as in NZ and not so into the country music as you guys over in US by what I’ve seen, seem to be a lot of popular country singers over there but in the pics of seen and interviews, sound a nice couple. Jasper’s first & 2nd names flow well I think, but as we had a cat by the same name growing up I naturally can’t help but think of him when I hear it! (not that it’s a typical cat name of course a bit unusual perhaps for a cat anyhow!, & their baby and choice of name as like it and won’t care about my old cat). Is just what I relate that name to from personal experience. Having said that, prefer it to Huck (sounds very American so maybe more popular in your part of world of course, geographic trends/popularity and all) or even Casper, eg Claudia Shiffer’s son. Always think of a ghost when I hear Casper as many people might?, can’t help it, don’t mean it to sound rude and no offence to any Caspers or relatives of parents of any out there as people won’t care about my humble opinion anyway! Main thing is they’re all happy & doing well as a family of 4, just reminded me of family pet, pleased baby arrived safely. Sure she’s out he’s out after going nearly two weeks overdue!

  105. Stephany Says:

I love the name! It fits well with Huck. Congrats again!

  106. Ratty Says:

Automatically think of Twilight…not that that’s a bad thing, am quite a fan of Twilight!

  107. Cortney Says:

Well, If I was Kimberly I wouldn’t want my kids name to be Warren William either. Good for them that they waited to use Warren on another baby. Congratulations! Hope they have a girl next!

  108. Jess from Ohio Says:

Aww! I love the name Jasper. I think of Jasper “Jax” Jacks from General Hospital. And for obvious reasons, good things come to mind :)

  109. Morg Says:

Congrats! 12 days late, wow! Huck and Jasper, I like it! I can’t believe he was 9lbs. 10oz. because with Huck Kim carried tiny but had a 7lbs. 7oz. baby so I guess for 12 days late its ok. I can’t wait to see him!

  110. Sarah Says:

Aww, I love the name! And what a big baby!! The names sound really sweet together! Congratulations!!:)

  111. Emily Says:

9lbs10oz!! Poor thing! Love the name they chose.

  112. Brittany Says:

Jasper & Huck flows nicely. I think his nickname should be Jax (you know you’re a general hopsital fan when… LOL).

  113. Mrs. R. Says:

SUPER cute name! Huck & Jasper are adorable names together, and very country music. Congrats to the whole family again on a happy healthy new baby boy!

  114. Bieta Says:

Jas and Huck thats cute. I approve! not like it matters lol

  115. Tina Says:

lol GH i luve that show.

  116. JMO Says:

    Wow that’s one big baby!!
Jasper is cute but it doesn’t sound very country like to me like Huck does, lol. I wonder if they’re going to go with the middle name like they did with Huck (but I hope not cause Warren is very old fashioned).

  117. Sue Says:

EWWWWW. . . not really a fan of the name Jasper! Jax would be OK (yeah Im a GH fan). Warren Jasper I would have liked better. Guess it goes with their other name choice of Huckleberry – poor kids.

  118. Brandy Says:

Funny thing is my cat is named Jasper…..the kicker is, he is a 23 pound cat. Big baby, big cat, both Jaspers ;-) CONGRATS to them!

  119. Auroroa Says:

Aww, cute! I automatically think of the Twilight books (& movie)… however, that’s not a bad thing :P All the best to them!

  120. Loralie Says:

Congrats to Kimberly, Brad and Huck! :)

I too thought they’d use Little Jimmy Dickens name in there somewhere or Andy Griffith’s but I also figured Warren would be a middle name since Brad’s grandpa meant so much to him.

  121. MZ Says:

Oh I love the name! If my little sister had been a boy her name was going to be Jasper.

  122. Charlotte Says:

God Bless you Kimberly, that is one BIG baby! My nephew was 14 days late and was 8lbs 15oz. I love the name Jasper, reminds me of Road to Avonlea. Ha! Congrats to all of them

  123. Sara Says:

I automatically think of Twilight as well…but like everyone is saying…NOT a bad thing! LOVE Twilight! and LOVE the name! SO adorable! :)

  124. janine Says:

    LOVE the name Jasper!

  125. Alex Says:

Jasper is such a great name!

  126. HeatherR Says:

I wonder if she had a C-section since the baby was so big?

  127. Hea Says:

That’s not so big. Is that considered big and c-sectionish in America?

    Loving the name!

  128. Alice Says:

I like the name but it doesn’t sound “country” to me at all. It sounds rather British actually.

  129. CelebBabyLover Says:

Hea- You’re right. Techinally, 9lbs isn’t that big these days.

Sue- I wouldn’t feel too bad for those kids, actually. “Huckleberry” is actually Huck’s middle name. If he doesn’t like being called Huck or Huckleberry when he gets older, he can just go by his first name, William. As for Jasper, he can always go by Warren if he doesn’t like Jasper!

  130. Devon Says:

Hea, I don’t think there really is “too big” of a baby to deliver vaginally, just what the mother can handle. But I might be wrong. A friend of mine who was 100lbs and 5″2 delivered a 10lb baby boy vaginally, so I yeah I think it’s what the mother’s body can handle.

  131. DD Says:

oh man, Jasper is the name we’ve decided on for our baby. We thought we were the only people in the world who had thought of that name! I wonder if we should reconsider now. Hmmm….

  132. babyboopie Says:

That’s funny, one of my best friends had a son 12 days late and he was 9lbs 2oz and he is also named Jasper! Lovely name and bet he is beautiful!

  133. Corinne Says:

Jasper Warren is one very cool name! I love their naming style! Crongrats to them!

  134. Sandra Says:

Love the name – congrats to the Paisleys.

  135. Jill Says:

My heart goes out to Kimberly. That is a LOT of baby, and she’s not a big woman. Congratulations to them on the new little guy!

  136. Vanessa Says:

My sister-in-law has two children, the first was 9.14 at birth, and the second was 9.15. She gave birth to both naturally. You don’t need a C-section just because the baby’s not 6 pounds!

  137. HeatherR Says:

I was just wondering about the C-section, because like Kimberly, I was very tiny before having my first son and he was also overdue. They induced me because they had determined that he was over 8 lbs and if I waited any longe to have him, I may need a C-section. This also happened to a close friend of mine. She was overdue and the Dr’s thought the baby was too big to deliver vaginally so she had a C-section. I think sometimes when it is your first baby (in my case it was) you just do what the Dr says.

I wondered if she had a C-section, too. I had a baby boy that weighed 10-and-a-half pounds and my other son weighed 9-and-a-half pounds and my daughters weren’t exactly small either: 8 lbs., 1 oz. and 7 lbs., 9 oz. No C-sections.

I think Jasper sounds very country, actually. I think their two boys’ names “go” great together!

Love the name Jasper. It was the name of our first baby — our dog! :) After we named him, I felt kind of sad that I didn’t save it for a future son’s name.

Also, my second child (a son) was 9lbs 14oz (3 days EARLY!) and the delivery was faster and easier than it was with my 8.5-pound daughter — no stitches even! I’m only 5′2″ so I think it all depends on your pelvis. Of course the doctors had no idea my son would be that big, maybe they would have encouraged a C-section if they knew? And there is no way I’m going for a third child. Don’t want to be on the local news next time with a 15-pound baby! :)

What a “normal” name for once! I know a couple Jaspers myself, and funny thing, Jasper is a fabulous park and ski resort in Alberta, Canada! Jasper Paisley sure has a nice sound to it. Congrats to Brad and Kimberly!

Devon – Okay. I live in Scandinavia where, I suppose babies are generally a bit bigger than in some other places around the globe. I’ve read somewhere that Scandinavian people are considered quite tall. Not all of us but some of us. :-) I’m 5′8, for example.

The reason I’m asking though is that I recently saw a documentary series from an American maternity and delivery ward and they induce and perform c-sections almost every time on that show, which is supposed to be very real and reflect true regular births. Anyway, a baby weighing almost 8 Ibs was considered BIIIG. And he was born by a woman who looked to be quite big. But then again, big doesn’t mean tall… 8 Ibs in Sweden is just your average baby and they seemed to think the little guy was huge.

That’s the reason why I’m asking about this. No judging involved, I’m just curious to know. :-)

I think Don Johnson has a young son named Jasper if I remember correctly. That’s the other time I’ve heard the name Jasper in recent history.

i had my first baby 12 weeks ago and he was 9lb10oz and i had a natural delivery. was hard work because he got stuck in the birth canal but labours not supposed to be easy and we managed it! where i live a c section isnt even an option until you literally cant get them out, its not a pick and choose option! big babies are just the cutest, love having something to grab hold of! congratulations! xx

Congrats to the Paisley family for another wonderful addition! I love they are acting like normal people and giving their son a normal name plus it means something special to them.
