Heidi Klum Dishes On Her Fourth Pregnancy, Family Life

Jackson Lee/Splash News Online

With her husband Seal recently confirming that the couple are expecting their fourth child, supermodel Heidi Klum graces the cover of the May 4th issue of Us Weekly and opens up about her latest pregnancy.

Due in mid-fall, Heidi reveals how she is including her daughter Leni, 5 next month, this time around, her thoughts on losing the baby weight — the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is filmed in November — and whether the family is hoping for a girl or a boy!

Click below for the full interview!

Did you sense you were pregnant?

“Yeah, I kind of knew. You feel your body change and I’ve done it three times before. Then I got the proof from the doctor and it was wonderful. Seal had the biggest smile. He said, ‘Here we go, one more time!’ Because all this time, we’ve said, ‘Okay, one more and that’s it.’ We said that after Leni and Henry. When Johan was born, I still didn’t feel like I was done. When we looked around the table, it was like one person was missing. So we’ve been, you know, having fun as a couple. And that’s how No. 4 came about. But that will be it.”

Do the kids understand what’s happening?

“Our children each have beautiful black-and-white photos of me being pregnant with them in their rooms. They’ll say, ‘Here is when I was in Mama’s belly!’ But because Leni is 5 [next month], I’ll show her an ultrasound and say, ‘This is the nose, these are the arms.’ I’ll explain how they put jelly on the belly and have a machine to look inside. And she’ll say, ‘They cut the belly open, Mama?’ ‘No, they can see through the belly!’ I’m definitely going to take her along next time! It’s a very hard concept for them. It’s like being on a car ride and asking, ‘Are we there yet? Are we there yet?’”

Do you want a girl or boy?

“We’d be happy with either, but it would be a lie if I said we all weren’t hoping for a little girl — especially Leni because she would love to have a little sister. She’ll say, ‘I hope it’s a girl so she can be in my room, and I’m going to help you and I’m going to change the diapers and I’m going to be a really good sister.’ I don’t think the kids are jealous that a new one is coming. My kids are buddies, and they’re used to new additions. Still, I don’t know if we’ll find out the sex beforehand. In the past, we did. I’ll have to check with my husband. He always says there are so few surprises in life. This is one of them.”

Any chance of twins?

“No. We don’t have any twins in our families, so it would be very unlikely!”

Do you like being pregnant?

“I do. It’s the most wonderful thing that your body goes through. It’s producing another human being! What a miracle. It’s never boring. Not old hat like, ‘Oh, I’ve done it three times.’ Every time is a new first time and I love it. Then the birth is just an amazing experience.”

You make it look so easy. Any advice for other pregnant women?

“I would say to cherish these moments and think of what you have in the end as a mom. You have made a child. You created a new life all in your amazing body!”

Speaking of which, what about losing the baby weight?

“I honestly don’t think, ‘Oh, my God, when I get bigger, what am I going to do with the weight after?’ People write crazy things about me, like I put vinegar on salad leaves so I have no appetite. It’s not true! I trust my body. My stomach can stretch out to the most enormous place, then it goes back with exercise and eating right. I have good eating habits. Being a model, I had to learn and change my lifestyle. In Germany, a lot of the food that we ate wasn’t healthy. A lot of things are fried with creamy sauces. But I’ve been very healthy over the last 12, 13 years. Besides, my husband always says that I’m sexy as I am. That’s what I care most about.”

Will you return to the Victoria’s Secret Runway?

“I don’t know. The birth will be very, very close to when the show is [in November]. I don’t know if I’ll be able to walk in my underwear quite that fast! We’ll see.”

You were pregnant with Leni when you met Seal. How did you know he was The One?

“I knew right away he was my dream husband. I had been married before [to stylist Ric Pipino], and I didn’t have that feeling. I had a different man before [Leni's biological father, with whom she has no contact, race-car mogul Flavio Briatore], and I didn’t have it. But when I met my husband, I knew this was the person I would spend the rest of my life with and have a family with. He is absolutely the best dad. He is loving and caring and would do anything for his children. He’s patient and does not mind being the bad cop at times who gets things done! I’m sure it’s not always easy for him because, as a singer, you have to rest your voice and sleep. And these screaming children are bouncing on his head 24/7! But he loves it. They make him feel good and vice versa.”

Did you always want a big family?

“I think it’s something every girl dreams about. You know, having a big wedding with a white dress, the perfect husband, the perfect house with the white picket fence and the dog. I always hoped for a big family, but I never really put a number on how many children would be there. So I’m very lucky because I have the perfect man and lovely kids and the house in L.A. with a garden, a tennis court, and pool.”

How do you keep the romance in marriage?

“Your kids are happy if you’re happy. And if your love is happy, then everything works. I think a lot of people think once the children are there, it’s all about the children. But you can’t forget about your best friend, your lover, your husband. We’ll run off for a weekend in Paris. We went to India. Last year we went to Venice, [Italy] together. That was the last time I slept in. As wonderful as it is to be up with the kids in the morning and having breakfast at 6:30, it’s amazing to sleep in until 10. It takes getting used to. The first few days you still wake up early and hear the kids even though they are not there.

For our anniversary [May 10th], we always go to Mexico and say our vows again on the beach, like our wedding. Nothing is written down or rehearsed; it comes from the heart. I tell him things that happened in the last year and the journey that we’ve been on that year. Then we have a big three-day party with our friends and family. A great band, lots of food, and a special theme. Some people may think it’s silly, but we love it. It was an important moment in our lives and I think it’s important for our kids to remember those moments as a family. We’re very big on family values.”

Are you big on discipline as well?

“We want our kids to have good manners. When we walk onto a plane with three small children, I know we get dirty looks! People roll their eyes and think, ‘Oh no, this will be a fun 12-hour ride from L.A. to Germany.’ But we do Crayola Color Wonder activity books and watch movies and play games. I buy small toys for the plane. A lot of people compliment them on how well they did. Sometimes they do run up and down the aisle; they can’t sit. But they’re troopers. We’re all jet-lagged, but you can’t be mean to them because what do they know? If they’re up at 2 a.m., they’re up at 2 a.m. They want to be entertained. So you get up and do things with them.”

Do you have help?

“We do have three nannies, two on at a time. They are a part of our family. It’s not like the staff is in a different place and we can’t be seen together! We eat together and watch TV together.

I say television, but I mean Kaleidescape. It’s this great television system. TV can be violent. I don’t want the kids to see anyone shoot each other. We haven’t started with Nintendo games or anything. We’re trying to get them to be creative, like paint and play games.”

What’s mealtime like?

“Our children eat really well. No special meals for them. What we prepare for us and is on the table is on the table, and if they don’t like it, the kitchen is closed. So they eat! Then I think it’s okay to give ice-cream for dessert. If they were bad eaters, I would not give it to them. And of course, if we drive by McDonald’s, they never say no to chicken nuggets and fries with barbecue sauce.”

Do you speak German to your kids?

“They’re bilingual. Completely. You owe that to your children if you have the ability to speak another language. But Leni definitely has an American accent. School has changed her. She picks up things that you know is not one of your things. ‘You know, we really have to get a compactor for our food.’ Like, what does she know about a compactor?”

Do you talk with the kids about having a biracial family?

“If being biracial ever comes up in school, then we would definitely talk about it. And I do think they see the different colors. Leni did this wonderful painting hanging in our kitchen of our family. It’s Seal, who she painted really dark. Then me, kind of white with a sparkle dress on. And she made herself exactly like me, and she has a crown on with a sparkle dress. And then is Henry, who is not as dark as Papa, so she chose a different brown pencil. And there is Johan, who has a different brown pencil. So it’s not like she says, ‘Oh, they are different,’ but I see that she sees it. I don’t think it’s a big deal.”

What’s the secret to balancing work and motherhood?

“For me, my No. 1 priority in life was to always have a family. If I had not been able to work anymore, then that would have been it. I would definitely choose family over career. It’s really great that my field has allowed me to work and let me do things that a woman does naturally. When you’re so driven, and I’ve always been driven to be successful, and that was all I used to think about. Then I realized that having a husband and kids is what really fulfills me. If my career ended tomorrow, I can still be a good mom and teach them what I know and have them grow up to be good children.”

beautiful interview :) I love that family !!!

  2. anon Says:

I appreciate all of heidi’s commments. Kids aren’t colorblind, they just don’t care.

  3. Ashley Says:

What a nice, refreshingly honest interview. Its great to see someone so open about their life and ways. I wish Heidi and Seal the absolute best.

  4. Emma Says:

    I love this family.

  5. cas Says:

sounds like such an awesome family =)

  6. heather lynn Says:

What a great interview! I wish Heidi, Seal, Leni, Henry, Johan, and the new baby all the best. They seem like a real, genuine, loving family.

  7. Liz Says:

I wish I could afford having three nannies for each of my kids(LOL).I hope its a girl this time so Leni can have a little sister to play with.

  8. gianna Says:

I notice in pics seal never looks happy with the paparazzi and I often wonder if you don’t like the paparazzi why sell baby pics everytime and why pose in magazines like us weekly talking about your pregnancy. Not everyone sells pics like halle berry, salma hayek never did, so it always puzzles me when people seem to hate the paparazzi but use it for their advantage or to make money. They have 3 nannies now for 3 chuldren, I wonder if they will be adding a 4th nanny for a 4th child. I remember when she was pregnant with henry and johan heidi said on talk shows they didn’t know the sexes of the babies, but the rumor got around that they did both times and it was boys, now she confirmed they did indeed know the sexes. The new rumor is she is due late sept/early oct and it’s a girl, so maybe that’s why she is saying they would really love a girl lol. As for leni i’m sure she notices the differencce between seal and her siblings, and she will the older she gets, because she will be the only sibling that looks so different from the other 3. But this is the family she has been raised with, and i’m sure when she is older it’s all she will ever remember.

  9. gianna Says:

Oh and this week us weekly has over a 4 page spread with the family, showing heidi’s body before and after each baby, and some of her mommy must haves.

  10. Christine Says:

    Ahhh…love this family.
She was my “pregnant celeb buddy” when I was expecting my 3rd child and she was expecting Johan.
Can’t wait for this new arrival!!!

  11. g!na Says:

aaw, beautiful interview!!! My nephew is biracial. My sister’s husband is African American. It’s never been an issue for him. He’s 8yrs old and when a classmate ask him why are you with that lady(my sister) because she’s white, he said, oh that’s my mom! My daddy is brown & i get to be both colors he said very proudly! lol. He knows he has two different cultures and he’s a proud lil man!

  12. Makena Bogosian Says:

    Love them!

  13. Julie Says:

They are such an awesome family!

  14. Brandi Says:

Gianna the pictures aren’t posed, they’re paparazzi shots, and the cover and first inside picture are from an old photoshoot. I’ve seen those pics before at least a year ago. It said in the magazine that it was just a phone interview. I do agree with you about the sex of the babies thing. Why lie about it? You can just say “we know but are keeping it between us” or something. I noticed Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen did the same thing, then later came out and said they knew it was girls both times. I don’t get it especially when Heidi seems so open otherwise. Seems silly.

All in all great interview, she seems like a wonderful mom.

  15. Jane Says:

I think every family should do what works for them, but I personally would not want several nannies around all the time.

  16. Brianna Says:

LOL @ Leni and the compacter!

  17. MZ Says:

gianna, i don’t think i’ve ever heard seal complain about the paps, and he wasn’t even in this article at all, plus we just saw pics of him smiling the other day. also, heidi said they only have 2 nannies on at once. i mean i can see how that would sound excessive, but i imagine she does it b/c of the paps, to help keep track of the kids when they’re out admist all the crazy photographers.

i just love this family! i think heidi is pretty down-to-earth for a celeb (not quite where jennifer garner is, but not bad :-p) i’m sure this baby is going to be gorgeous!

  18. Still Life in South America Says:

I thought the same thing, Jane! Having two nannies around all the time would be invasive to my privacy. That’s just my feeling–I need a lot of personal space.

It sounds like they have a really down to earth family. Hope she has a girl this time!

  19. Jaxy Says:

I remember a scandal on here a while back when a celeb was wishing for a baby of a specific gender and everyone got huffy and used the gender card (I have forgotten which star it was) but I see no one getting upset with Heidi saying she would like a little girl…. different strokes for different folks (or celebrities in this case)?
Either way, the baby will most likely be cute

  20. anon Says:

Seal HATES the paps. I was watching tmz one time and he actually had a camcorders and he was recording them saying stuff like “do you like?” and “hows does it feel”. According to tmz he really loathes them which is definitely understandable.

  21. sara Says:

“I think a lot of people think once the children are there, it’s all about the children. But you can’t forget about your best friend, your lover, your husband”. WELL SAID HEIDI!

  22. UggaMugga.com Says:

I love that nothing is a big deal to Heidi…not meals, race, weight, etc. She’s confident and loves her family…and that’s that! LOVE her!

  23. koala Says:

I want her scarf …anyone know where she got it?

  24. Jane Says:

“I think a lot of people think once the children are there, it’s all about the children. But you can’t forget about your best friend, your lover, your husband”.

I don’t think it’s necessarily that people forget about it. I think it’s that a lot of people can’t afford to hire someone to come and watch their kids while they go to Paris or India.

I absolutely agree with the sentiment behind what Heidi is saying, that’s it’s important to still make time for your relationship with your spouse. But I think the reason why a lot of people don’t is because they don’t have the time or money. Heidi and Seal are lucky to have the option to make so much time for each other.

  25. Heather Says:

Geez, I wish I could hate her (especially knowing my hubby would probably run away with her in a heartbeat – LOL), but I just can’t – she’s quite the woman!!! What a real, grounded, loving mother and wife. Very refreshing in Hollywood!

  26. JMO Says:

Nice interview. I really do hope they have a girl too only because I think it would be nice for Leni and also nice to see what a baby girl from the two of them look like but I really have a strong feeling she’ll have another boy! So she said they’re done but who knows they could always adopt one day. But she’s so beautiful pregnant and makes it look so easy I could see her doing it again (even though she says they’re done)!

  27. Di Says:

Hollwyood celebrities are so fortunate. I find it kind of amazing that Heidi has three nannies so essentially one nanny for each child.

Celebrities like Heidi certainly have it made. There are some many moms out there who are raising three or four kids with no assistance whatsoever outside of family and this woman has two people on staff all the time. Sometimes celebrities make it seem like they are just like the average mom who has to struggle to balance work and family but they forget to mention that they have a lot of hired help.

Even if I could afford three nannies, I do not think I would because I would feel uncomfortable having a third party in my home all the time assisting me with my children.

  28. Courtney Says:

I don’t forget about my best friend, lover and husband. Unfortunatly, my kids decided they didn’t want to go to bed until 10 last night and by 11 the 22 month old was awake and sick…Too bad I didn’t have 2 nannies right there to take care fo them so i could spend time with my husband….

  29. Christine Says:

I think Seal just hates TMZ…
They were on Oprah and they spoke of paps and said it comes with the territory. And he played around with them the paps that were there while they were being filmed for Oprah (although that could’ve been for the benefit of Oprah’s camera’s)

As far as her being in the show – which baby was it that she was on the VS runway with her wings 8 weeks after delivering?!
She’ll do it again! I betcha!

  30. daniela Says:

Seal and Heidi are my fav celeb couple! I agree that sometimes once the kiddies come along couples “forget” about each other and sometimes that causes them to drift apart. I think that can happen with or without nannies. I usually don’t read many of the celeb interviews but this was a good one – Very down to earth.

I can’t wait to see the new addition. I may get flamed for this, but I hope they have a girl and not only for Leni to have a little sister but cause I really would love to see what a little girl would look like. It may be wrong, but I can’t help but wonder! :)

  31. g!na Says:

Di, i agree with you! My sister is a single mother with 2 children & working fulltime. She can’t afford nannies around the clock! Madonna has 3 nannies who are fulltime!

  32. anon Says:

Is having 2 nannies really necessary? I can completely understand one, or perhaps two if they’re traveling but when they’re just chilling out at home whats the point?

  33. g!na Says:

    Jaxy Says:
April 24th, 2009 at 8:50 pm Jaxy that would probably be melissa joan hart wanting a girl after having 2 boys!

  34. michelle Says:

    Did Seal legally adopt Leni?

  35. Di Says:

I don’t think that Seal has legally adopted Leni but if he did it has not been publicized. I believe Leni still has Heidi’s last name instead of Seal’s last name. I wonder if there has been no adoption because they do not feel it is necessary or because they do not want to go through the whole legal adoption process which would involve terminating the biological father’s parental rights which Fabio may not want to do even though he has had no role in her life. I remember when Brad Pitt adopted Madoxx and Zahara everyone knew about it and their names were legally changed to Jolie-Pitt.

  36. gianna Says:

In regards to heidi having 3 kids with 3 nannies, I bet she will add a 4th one when the 4th baby comes around. I think nannies are fine when you work, or it’s even ok to walk around with 1 nanny if you have 3 small children, but usually it’s heidi, seal, heidi’s mom and 3 nannies at the park with them lol. You can’t possible need 6 grownups for 3 children at all times. Celebrities defintley live in their own bubble though, you guys should add brooke burke’s twitter. David charvet is shooting a new reality show this week, so they packed the kids, well only rain and shaya, neriah and sierra are not with brooke and david this week. Anyway for days brooke was posting playing with my kids, feeding my kids, bonding with my babies, exhausted from being my kid’s playmate . She said she is gonna give her a nanny a raise when she sees her. It sounds like she can’t stand to do it without help. When the nanny finally meet up with them after a few days, brooke was like finally my nanny has arrived and I can do grown up stuff. So yea people like heidi, brooke, have a bunch of kids, anybody could when you have multiple nannies, changing diapers, feeding the kids, etc. Easy to have me time or couple time when you have loads of help

  37. Its_me_jane Says:

    Hi,

Gianna, I really believe that she didn’t found out the sex of the boys but did with the Leni. She seems like a person that’s fairly honest and wouldn’t lie about something like that. Besides, I don’t think she would be able to keep it a secret. I would love to hear the interview to hear how it was said sometimes, I notice Heidi makes idiom and grammar mistakes that makes it appears that she is saying something different.

Anyways, Seal hates the Paparazzi but she doesn’t really have her kids photographed except when they are born and she includes the other kids but they are shot in a way that you can’t see their faces.

    I don’t think she is like Angelina/Brad.

  38. imkeh Says:

If they feel they need to have three nannies, they must have their reasons. If they can afford it, why not. They are giving three people a livelihood.

  39. CelebBabyLover Says:

g!na- How do you know how many nannies Madonna has? Has she shared that information in an interview?

  40. Ryan Says:

Awwwwwwwwwwww, I really liked that interview too! I am crossing my fingers that Leni gets the little sister she wants! I also would LOVE to see what a little girl from the two of them would look like since there boys are so adorable!

  41. Whitney Says:

with a daughter that looks like her ex, her first born looking like seal but blond coloring and her youngest being the daekest and looking like her – I am super curious to see how the genes will be dispersed with the next baby… (i’m hoping for a girl that looks like Johan – with Henry’s blondish hair)

  42. babyboopie Says:

Aw I adore Heidi, and her family! If I had to choose a celeb-child in this world to keep, it would be Leni! She’s so cute. And I always love hearing about the romantic story of Heidi and Seal! So sweeet!

  43. sushi Says:

As i see it, Seal has a black skin, Henry has a dark and brown skin and Johan has a golden skin, i’ll give anything to giv up my white skin and have one of theirs!
I found it amazing that Heidi and Seal have managed to raise 3 wonderful kids in this town, with all that the medias keep on saying. As for Leni’s “difference” about not having the same father as her brothers, i don’t see it as an issue, i simply believe that when she’ll be old enough to understand what Seal is to her ( her dad, not her father), she’ll be the most open minded person ever, which is the best gift Seal could have given to her as a dad.

  44. lis Says:

I don’t see Leni’s adoption as something they’d feel a need to publicise, if they’ve done it. Heidi recently got American citizenship and it was only brought up in passing due to the election last year. I can see them being the same way about Leni. Keep quiet about the important stuff. :)

  45. Lisa Says:

I love Heidi-she seems so happy and down to earth. What a great family. Can’t wait for news of the new arrival even though I am sure we have months to wait. :o )

  46. April Says:

It’s me jane, it sounds to me that they found out the sexes of all beforehand with this quote – “Still, I don’t know if we’ll find out the sex beforehand. In the past, we did.” I could be wrong though.

  47. Alice Says:

Love the interview! Heidi seems so happy and I love the little stories about Leni!!

Yes, she has lots of help, and she’s open about it. Yes she’s not like every mom, and never in the interview does she say so. When she says she doesn’t forget her husband, she’s not criticizing the moms who can’t fly to Paris for the weekend. She’s criticizing the moms for whom life becomes ALL about the kids and their husband takes the back seat, and yes those women exist. Normal people can still let the grandparents have the kids once in a while and have couple time.

I think they will find out the sex of the baby because Leni will be so impatient and anxious to know if she will have a little sister!

  48. Mrs. R. Says:

SUCH a lovely lady and wonderful mommy! She sounds like she has found a balance between enjoying the luxuries her success can afford and still live a very simple, family focused life.
She was my pregnancy celeb buddy with Johan (3 weeks apart), and now with this one too. We’re only a month apart, and I’m pretty excited to get to see pics of her as her belly grows. Seeing pictures of how she dressed was a huge help to me in maternity clothes shopping.

  49. its_me_jane Says:

I thought she said that she had three nannies but two at any given time. I don’t understand why people are saying she has three all the time. There’s a big difference between the two statements. It looks like Heidi rotates the nannies so that each nanny can have a break. And, I don’t understand why people judge anyone they don’t know. Gianna, it seems Heidi bring the nannies to the park because they are part of the family. I like that she doesn’t hide the fact that she has help. I don’t think that makes any less of hands on mom.

  50. FC Says:

I adore this family, and the interview was great. I loved what she said about her relationship with Seal, and how it’s best to make sure you two are good first and foremost, and then how the kids impact them. Lovely.

  51. mom-squared Says:

I agree with Heidi. You have to find time to spend with your husband and it’s not a matter of having full or part-time help. I have no sympathy for women who lose their husbands when I find out they barely say two civil words to their husband when they come home from work and haven’t had sex with them in 2 years. I don’t blame a man for not sticking around for that nonsense. As I woman I would not tolerate it. I like that my husband and I enjoy spending time alone together and we make an effort to do it even when all heck is breaking loose in our house.

  52. daniela Says:

    @ mom-squared – I agree 100% -perfectly said! :)

  53. emma Says:

I love this family. I hope Leni gets her little sister that she wants. It would be lovely to see Heidi have a little girl again. I remember when Leni was born that seems like only last week and then Henry and then Johan. Love this family they are to cute

  54. Chris Says:

Great interview. Heidi seems so laid back and sweet. I hope they have another girl for Leni’s sake. :)

If Seal hasn’t adopted Leni, she’s stand to inherit Favio’s fortune as she is his only heir I believe. Also Seal and Heidi’s kids are pretty close in age so the nannies probably come in handy.

  55. Nicka Says:

I don’t quite understand the need to criticize Heidi here. Unlike most celebrities, she is very open and honest, and I feel, very appreciative of what she has. She strikes me as very healthy and relatively normal with her attitudes.

I am especially saddened whenever any mother feels the need to tear down another one to make themselves feel better. So Heidi has 2 nannies at a time (one on break), so what? She is also a world-famous model and producer who works a lot and has three small children. To compare yourself to any celebrity is somewhat silly, these people lead very different lives and have tons of money. But I don’t begrudge them for their lifestyle differences, particularly when they are also so family-oriented and obviously are loving and devoted parents.

  56. Lee Says:

When I worked as a nanny, I actually enjoyed being with the mom as well as on occasion with another part time nanny when I worked part time. Maybe it’s less stressful and happier to have a second nanny to be your coworker/partner while you’re working. Why do u think nannies sometimes meet up at the park?(they do that alot in NYC.) It can get lonely just hanging out with an infant or toddler all day who can’t converse with you. Even mommies feel that way sometimes. That’s why mommies/nannies have playdates, not just for the kids but for them too.

  57. Renae Says:

If they want to have four, five or six nannies and a whole marching band behind them, it’s their choice. Their kids seem to be well- loved and cared for. The kids also seem to be very close to Heidi and Seal. So, as long as their family is happy I say you do what works for you and they’ll do what works for them.

Good luck on the new baby Heidi and Seal. I hope Leni gets her little sister.

  58. Ari Says:

Good luck to Seal, Heidi and their beautiful family. I had the opportunity to say hi to Seal and he was so gracious and down to earth. I am a biracial child myself and my father fell in love with my mom when she was two months pregnant with me. I never thought of the difference between my siblings and I. I mention this to say it is so important to be comfortable and happy with whomever one choose to be with and also to be very happy. I see the difference in color, but I never acknowledge it, other people do with some of them having a “smart mouth”. A girl would be wonderful for the family, a healthy baby-even better.

  59. Jax Says:

NEWS FLASH!!… not every girl dreams of a big wedding and a big family.. When i was little I wanted 7 kids, but I never wanted a huge wedding or anything…CHOOSE YOUR WORDS CAREFULLY MY FRIEND!!

  60. Rachel Says:

Yea, they have a completely average family. I, myself go to Paris for the weekend every few months lol. Give me a break!

  61. T Says:

I hope she has a girl too! And I love the fact that her children are bilingual. Other than English I don’t speak any other languages, but I want my children to learn at least Spanish. As soon as their are born I’m going to start introducing Spanish as their second language.

  62. chris Says:

I love Heidi and Seal but it’s a lot easier to not forget about your lover and best friend when you have two nannies on at a time! I’m not saying I wouldn’t do the same if I had the means (I don’t!), but this is one is a lot easier said than done!

  63. BeckyPeabody Says:

Heidi Klum in so inspirational. She seems to do everything with gusto and relish. Wise and prudent. Exhuberant.

Even with all of the help that she has, being the mother of 3 children let alone four is a big challenge. You don’t relinquish the social/pschological and developmental responsibilities–even with “help”. There is always a light inside of you for your kids, though sometimes it may be dimmed. And although you may be fortunate to have one or two nannies, you still have to select them, monitor their emotional being and be very much involved in what the nannies are doing. Because a happy nanny increases the potential for happy kids.

Something tells me that she is a joy to work for. Her kids are well mannered and lovable. And her nannies all seem to be very focused, fun and fond of the children.

  64. Emma Says:

How sweet! I love how “normal” and grounded this family seem to be. They are just so lovely. Congratulations xx

  65. Emma Says:

And with them being bilingual – it reminds me of a family I used to babysit for. The kids were 2 & 4 years old, dad was english, mum was french and the kids were totally bilingual. The only problem for them was they had to find someone who spoke french to babysit as the youngest child might have spoken in french if she woke up or felt unwell & been distressed if the minder didn’t understand. It always amazed me that such small children could say half a sentence in english with an english accent then switch to french in a french accent! Super cute!

  66. Cneason Says:

I think it’s great that her kids are aware of their identity, but it’s just who they are. Interracial families are beautiful, and it sounds like her kids have the perfect perspective of their family. I hope my daughter is the same way.

  67. QueenSunny Says:

This is a BEAUTIFUL family in every sense of the word. Seal sounds wonderful and Heidi is such a real, down to earth beauty. God bless them forever!

  68. maggie Says:

i love this family i bet leni is happier than heidi and seal combined because she’ll have a little sis.
