Liev Schreiber had a good reason for missing Tuesday’s Los Angeles premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine: His 21-month-old son, Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, was sick, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Liev, who plays Sabretooth in the film, immediately flew from L.A. to New York to be with his partner, Naomi Watts, and their two children.
Sasha, who was hospitalized overnight for respiratory issues, was released Wednesday morning.
“Sasha got home today and is feeling much better after being hospitalized on Tuesday night with respiratory problems,” Liev’s rep Ina Treciokas tells PEOPLE.
Naomi and Liev are also parents to Samuel Kai, 4 months.

The pollen count this season so far has been awful, especially in urban areas. Hope little Sasha feels better.

Oh my goodness! What kind of respiratory issues? I think it is hayfever season in NYC, is it not? I myself am starting to have a bit of breathing issues here, and there’s a lot of particles flying around so it’s coming up pollen/hayfever season.

I’m glad to hear Sasha’s doing better each day.
I also loved the photo paired with this piece. It’s so sweet, and I’m sure he’s getting plenty of that TLC (hugs, kisses, etc.) right now.
