"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Poll: Choosing Emergency Medical Care

Celebrity Baby Blog

This Mother’s Day, celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Brooke Shields, Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe, Shon Gables and regular moms and dads will be walking/running/strolling in Central Park to raise money for R Baby Foundation, a non-profit committed to increasing the standard level of pediatric emergency care. R Baby was founded by a couple after losing their 7-day-old daughter to a undiagnosed, untreated viral infection that was missed in the ER. Hopefully most parents will never have to bring their children to the emergency room but accidents, illnesses and swine flu happen. When there’s a choice in which ER to visit, what qualities are most important to you?

For us, the recommendation of a friend is very important. I live with, and my son could be affected by, a rare genetic disorder. I trust the friends I’ve made with the same illness to help me figure out the best ERs and general doctors more than anyone else. I love our pediatrician, but I had scoped out the best hospital and ER before we even moved here. The pediatrician tried to tell us somewhere else was “just as good,” but I know it’s not.

uncommonlycute.com will be walking as well. this is an organization near and dear to our hearts!

  3. Lauren Says:

I vote reputation. A hospital that can get us in quickly and treats you promptly is best. For myself I have been to the ER so many times in my life that I already knew which I was going to take my child to. For stitches or broken bones we go to one, and for serious issues, another.

  4. Amanda Says:

In a real emergency? Definitely proximity. I’d take my kids to the nearest hospital if they were in need of emergency medical care. I know it’s probably different depending on where you live but around here you could be in for another 20-30min ride if you try to get to a different hospital when you are at or close to one of them…not worth that important time in a dire situation. Any care is better than none.
Care for things that aren’t immediately life threatening is a combination of everything else.

  5. Alex Says:

Proximity is definitely first on my list, there is no point in having a recommendation from anyone if it’s a million miles away. And as much as I love my friends and family, I would never trust their judgement on things like this because everyone’s healthcare experience is different. The only things I would take advice on from them would be cleanliness and the type of facilities.
