Tom and Connor Cruise: Laker Love

Concentrating on the hoops at hand, Tom Cruise and 14-year-old son Connor Antony sit courtside as they attend Game 2 of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets NBA Western Conference finals, held Thursday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The Nuggets defeated the Lakers 106-103 to tie the best of seven series 1-1.
Tom is also dad to daughters Isabella Jane, 16, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman and Suri, 3, with Katie Holmes.

I know it has been said before about Hugh Jackson and his children, but I find it remarkable, especially in this picture, how much some adopted children resemble their parents. Their expressions, body language and even dress is almost identical! Definitely a case of nurture winning out over nature here. Love it.

I also see the resemblance, and actaully to Nicole to (in the eyes a bit)!
It struck me funny that he’s 14 and on a site for celebrity babies… but I know there are many other teenagers of celebrities on the site… and I guess they are still babies in a certain sense!

i’m not trying to start nothing but i have a scenario:
what if Tom had stepped out on his wife at the time, which was Nicole Kidman, and gotten an African/American woman pregnant, and they all decided to keep it a secret because Nicole kept having miscarriages and she probably felt insecure about the public knowing. Supposed everyone signed an iron-clad agreement that would prevent all of the parties involved from “leaking” the information?
What if this is true? I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS TRUE, JUST GIVING A SCENARIO BECAUSE CONOR LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE TOM; just thinking he could very well be his biological son. JUST SAYING..
Please don’t attack me. IT IS JUST A THOUGHT. I REPEAT, THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT!

I think they don´t look alike in the shapes of the face, eyes, nose, etc.. but more in the facial and body expressions.
And that´s among many adopted children and their parents.

scherria that is one hell of a conspiracy theory! It’s an interesting thought, I don’t think there’s any truth in it as I believe the truth will always out, especially when people like the Cruises have every aspect of their lives scrutinised by the media, but it’s an intriguing theory to throw out there!

I think if you look at the pic close enough, you can definitely see similarities in their jawlines, hairline, eye shape and chin (although Tom doesn’t have the dimple in his)…it’s funny to think of Scherriea’s theory. Not that I really think that Connor is Tom’s biological son, but there is actress Loretta Young who adopted a baby girl, and then years later it came out that she was actually the actress’s biological daughter with Clark Gable. Not that I am trying to add fuel to the fire, lol

CTBmom, It was jsut something that I thought about, because although everyone says that because their life is so public, having Conor be his biological son is almost next to impossible, there are ways to prevent the public from certain information. “Gag Order”! The same way that some marriages are kept from the public, although the couple may be a high-profile couple, the same way the paternity of a child could be kept. AGAIN, I AM NOT SAYING THAT MY SCENARIO IS FACT…I’M JUST SAYING..LOL..Please don’t take this as me “digging for something”..I’m just saying..lol

I was thinking to myself Gosh! He looks EXACTLY like Tom! It amazes me too how much adopted children resemble their adoptive parents! He is a very handsome young man. He’s gonna make some lucky woman VERY happy!! Now, about the senario that Scherria brought to our attention. I don’t think it’s that far fetched. I mean it happens all the time. Celebrities are not immune to infidelity and children out of wedlock. I think it’s a really interesting theory!!

Crystal, this is exactly what i am talking about..I’m not saying that it is true..just thinking..TIME WILL TELL! Hhmmnn! I’ve just been viewing this (and other) same photo on 2 other sites, and the exact same conclusion (theory) seems to have been reached. Most seem to speculate that Tom may just be Conner’s bio dad. I kinda think so to. Adopted or not, Tom seems to be a fantastic and loving father to all 3 of his kids.
I hope that they actually get to see their other mom Nicole. I wonder if she “wants” to see them, or is something else going on.

I agree with most everyone, Connor is quite, quite handsome and will be breaking a few hearts very soon. Let’s hope he’s a gentleman, too, although my hunch is that he is!

Just because they look alike doesn’t mean that he is Connor’s biological dad. Connor could well be Tom’s sister’s or any other close relative. Take Suri for example, she looks less like her dad and more like Tom’s cousin William Mathoper.

I did a double-take after seeing this picture, because he seems to have grown up overnight! What a handsome young man; Daddy isn’t so bad, either. As far as a resemblance, I’ve been told twice in the past two weeks that my daughter looks a lot like me, and we adopted her from Asia. It’s definitely the expressions and demeanor. Either that, or they say people do start to resemble their pets

LOL, too funny !!! I, myself, can not see one scrap of resemblance. Totally different shape head, face, mouth, nose, eyes, different hair texture and colour and a completely different body shape. They do have a similar sitting position and wearing similar type clothing, but that’s it. He is very handsome though !

They do look so much alike! But, Connor has a cleft chin – don’t both parents need that for the child to get it? Or maybe it’s just one, I can’t remember.

I think people are confusing mannerisms with physical resemblance. While Connor clearly resembles Tom in the way he carries himself, their hair, eyes, complexions, etc. could not be more different. Same with people insisting how much Angelina and Brad’s adopted children look like them. GMAB-I look more like Angelina than Zahara does. The way children carry themselves in terms of picking up on their parents’ mannerisms is another story.
At any rate, I totally agree that that awkward pubescent stage has passed Connor altogether. He’s always been a handsome boy, but he’s gorgeous now, and seems like such a gentleman. He’ll definitely be a catch in a few years if he isn’t already.

I love how you rarely see pictures of the older children and when you do they always seem very well behaved. I’ve never heard one bad thing about Connor and Isabella. Tom and Nicole raised them well.
And I agree Connor does look like Tom! Same ears, nose and face shape! Crazy!!!

Penny- Nobody really knows how often Connor and Bella see Nicole. However, they DO see her, which seems to indicate that Connor IS adopted and Nicole IS his mom just as Tom is his dad. Also, look at all the conspiracy theories that were floating around about Suri when she was first born.
If Scherria’s theory was true, even if they did have an iron-clad confidentality agreement in place, I have a feeling that rumors would have gone around that Connor wasn’t actually adopted. In particular, I think the subject would have come up when Tom and Nicole’s divorce was made public (by that I mean rumors would have swirled).
Also, some people have said that Bella resembles Nicole. Do people think she’s Nicole’s biological child?

Lauren- I agree, but in the case of Zahara, she DOES have some facial features that are similar to Angie’s. For example, she has big lips, just like Angie. Her eyes are also big and expressive, just like Angie’s.

Penny- I also forgot to mention that whatever the custody arrangment is with Connor, it seems to be the same with Bella. Scherria’s theory, if true, definently wouldn’t explain why Bella’s custody arrangment is the same as Connor’s unless she’s also Tom’s bio kid (which no one has said).

Barbara LaMarr and Constance Bennett also did this, and Marion Davies raised a “niece” who was actually her biological daughter with William Randolph Hearst.
And then there is Helen Hayes and Charles MacArthur. Their “adopted” actor son James looks enough like his father to be his twin. I have heard rumors that James was Charles’s biological son from an affair he had. I suspect this is true, especially after reading Helen Hayes’s account of the “adoption.”

I guess we’ll never know whether Conor is Tom’s biological son or not..so I guess we can only take he and Nicole’s word, that Conor was adopted..maybe this is a case of nurture over-riding nature! either way, I love this Father-Son duo! I am happy Conor has a great relationship with his father and that his father is active in his life!

i however – don’t think they look a thing alike. their eyes, noses, mouths, foreheads – all different. i think because they are dressed alike, posed alike, and have the same expression – that they look similar – but the features themselves are not even close to the same.

and there is nothing good about it. You try to cover your self by proclaiming “this is only a thought” I think ths site is to make comments about the photos not the peoples lives in said photos. They do not look alike in the least. As others have stated it may only be that they are sitting in the same position, wearing the same color (shirts & jeans) both have watches on. Nothing else looks alike. He appears to be a very good father and has given no reason for what i’m sure would be hurtful gossip.

Sometimes I am shocked by the hurtful things people say about something that has absolutely no relevance to their own lives. Don’t these people have anything better to do with their time than publically state something that could be so hurtful! And so what if it were true? What the heck difference does it make to you?! Sheesh! This is about where the phrase “Get a life!” comes in….
In any case, I’ve always believed that a person’s personality and they way they carry themselves has an effect on their the way they look or are perceived to look. It’s much more likely that, Tom being Connor’s FATHER (sheesh!), Connor has picked up on his mannerisms. My daughter is just 16 months old, but so many times she does things that I see she gets from me, her dad, or other kids at her school. I mean, it’s just the way people are. We are influenced by the environment we grow up in.
Anyway, Connor is a handsome boy. And it’s adorable to see him with his Dad.
