Flynet |
Out with her baby girl in Central London on Wednesday, Melanie Chisholm was all smiles, strolling in and out of shops with daughter Scarlet.
Scarlet, 3 months, is the first child for the Spice Girl and partner Thomas Starr.
Want a peek at her face? Take a look at the photo Mel released two weeks after Scarlet’s birth!
Melanie pushes a Quinny Zapp in Black ($200).

Stroller info?

Anybody know what kind of stroller she’s pushing?

Its a bugaboo… very popular in the UK with celebs.

That’s a quinny zapp- i’m assuming the 3-wheeled european version (the US one has 4 wheels). Looks like the seat fabric is off and she poped in the maxi-cosi car seat- which is sold here too (slightly diff. version tho). The zapp is a great errand/mall stroller but not so good for your only stroller as it does NOT recline at all, no suspension, and small canopy. Great as a second car stroller tho or if you never really go for outdoor walks. Also, since there is no recline whatsoever, you can only use this stroller with the car seat attachment for the first 6 months till baby can sit straight up in the seat. HTH!

PS- that is definally NOT a bugaboo- you can see it says “quinny” on the right side

It’s a Quinny Zapp with a Maxi Cosi Mico infant carseat snapped into the frame:

It is a Maxi-Cosi. If you go to the Daily Mail website, you can see different pictures where the logo is clear. Not sure of the model.

Yep, like Hillary said it’s definitely a Quinny Zapp with the Maxi Cosi – it’s the same combo I use and I love it. The Zapp comes with Maxi Cosi adaptors as standard.

How long is too long to leave a baby in a car seat? Because I’ve heard different things. And what if you and baby are running errands for the day and/or your going on a road trip, would that be a problem?

that is definitely not the maxi cosi mico. but the maxi cosi cabrio.
mico is only available in the us. Cabrio in Europe

We have a Zapp and I hate it! Although our model is 3 wheeled and we only used from around 18 months.
It’s so rickety, the wheels are tiny and the handle is way low. Worst of all, it doesn’t recline. The only plus point is that it fits in the boot of my Ford Ka!
Anyway, back to the point! I love Mel and look forward to seeing more pics of Scarlett in the future. I bet she’s a great Mum

Mel C looks so happy with her daughter. She was my favorite member of Spice Girls. Luv you Mel C!

Its definitely a maxi cosi seat with Quinny Zapp frame. Have used both at different times and they’re both excellent, although the entire Zapp can’t be used until baby is at least 6 months old. My 2 year old loves it!

@dlock: car seats only should be used for their purpose => keeping the kids safe while driving… going shopping definitely isn’t one of them. every second outside a car is too long for the baby’s spine.

some of you are really funny with your speculations. you have to look at the picture carefully. that is NOT a bugaboo. I just laughed at that comment. second, that is not a Zapp 4, but a Zapp 3, because u can still see the zipper on a Zapp 4, and here there is no zipper visible. Third, that is not a Maxi Cosi Mico, but a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix, which is a european model.
This stroller can be used from birth, but it is advised that a baby not be in a car seat for more than 90 minutes…so I would never recommend it to be as your only stroller. If you want the Zapp, you’re gonna have to get something else for the comfort of your child. The Zapp is only suitable for travelling or really quick trip to the mall etc….but not for a long day at the zoo or whatever…
its really good for toddlers tho…as the seat is realllly high…and you never feel the weight of the child in it…I used to have a Pliko and I test drove the zapp and I could NOT feel my 2 year old daughter in it…really easy to push.

I agree with what a few of you have said, a car seat as part of a buggy is done for convienience and not for comfort for the baby. Personally I would never even consider buying this model for that reason. Even if it’s a short trip to the shops, I would walk with a pram or a Baby Bjorn style carrier. The only time my baby would be in a car seat outside of the car is if she was asleep and I carried her into the house in it. It’s each to their own, but I have never been able to stand car seats used as buggys.

Thanks Ingrid, and to everyone else for the info. I’m sure when the time comes for me to have my baby, I will present this info to my doctor. Really useful info.

Mel is so caring when it comes to her little girl! I’m sure Scarlet was just loving that stroller, despite what others have said!
