Peter Facinelli Finds the World is Fit For a Fivesome

The decision to add another child in the mix is a big step, and while actors Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth have spaced their brood out, the father of three admits the large age gap has its share of disadvantages. “They’re all like 4 or 5 years apart, so every time they were out of diapers I was like, ‘Oh, I think I can do this again,’ and you forget that it’s so much work,” he tells Ryan Seacrest.

To that end, although Peter may be moving past the diaper phase, the age differences between his daughters isn’t getting much easier! “Now they’re all at an age where they all want to do different things, so you’re constantly being split up — your attention is being split,” he notes. While the 35-year-old jokes that a dedicated father handbook would be most useful, it has been good, old-fashioned experience that has taught him two kids are easier than three!

“I’d say [with] two you’re going man-to-man, so you have your wife with you and it’s easy. Now [with three kids] we’re playing zone.”

As Ryan suggests the theory that a fourth child could create a sense of balance among the siblings, allowing them to depend more on one another and less on their parents, Peter laughs that his own mindset leads him to believe the world is designed for a fivesome. “That’s what I tell my wife,” he says.

“It’s party of five. You go into a restaurant, there’s five chairs at a table. You go to a hotel, you can fit five people in the [room]; If you get one more person, you have to get two hotel rooms. You get into a car, it seats five, otherwise you gotta get a Yukon bus!”

Peter and Jennie are parents to daughters Luca Bella, 12 this month, Lola Ray, 6 ½, and Fiona Eve, 2 ½.

  2. Courtney Says:

I so get what he is saying…I had 3 in 3 years and then had all of them out of diapers and thought…lets do it one more time…LOL you forget how much more work it is.

We never thought about needing a extra hotel room and also resteraunts do not have many tables for 6 just sitting there..they take up too much room so we end up waiting FOREVER….

    I love them!

  3. marlee Says:

Well, I’m typing this outside of my TWO hotel rooms – it’s true… Things really change with four. That being said, I think and and Jennie are going to have another… Just a gut feeling!

  4. Toughlove08 Says:

This guy is awesome!!! I can’t wait for New Moon!!!!!!

  6. Jess from Ohio Says:

He made some good points, but there are many things meant for four children (or just an even number) like amusement park rides :) But I adore this family and know they will be happy with 3 or 4 kids.

  7. T Says:

    What a solid family…

Wow those two have been together a long time by Hollywood standards and regular society (the way the average Joe is getting divorced these days). I wonder what is their secret?

  8. Cortney Says:

Is Luca biologically his daughter? I always thought Jennie was married to somebody else before Peter.

    —–

Jennie was married previously, but all her children are with Peter.

  10. Sofie Says:

I totalty agree with his comments….that is why I’m not having a fourth. Life just gets even more complicated after 3.

  11. Mary Says:

We have two and were on the fence with having another but I decided, two is enough!
I love their family, the kids are so beautiful and Peter and Jennie seem like awesome parents!

  12. gianna Says:

I think they will stop at 3 kids. peter always wanted two children, but went for a 3rd child cause jennie wanted it, but on every interview I see him on, he says he doesn’t want a 4th child, that it gets to crazy with that many kids. he says jennie would love a son, but he thinks even if they had a 4th child, it would be another girl.

  13. Sammy-xx Says:

I love this family. The interview they did with Chealsea Handler is hilarious and so cute, I watched it with a huge grin on my face.
Their kids are beautiful and I love their names.

I watched Riding in Cars With Boys at the weekend and I didnt know Peter was in it, it was a lovely surprise.

  14. Linda Says:

Hmmm…I think they will have another one!The future will show if they can handle it. Jeanny said once, that she would love a fourth child, because she longs for a boy! I can totally understand that since she had three daughters.:D

Peter thinks that she can only deliver girls, huh?I mean he is very sure Baby No.4 would be another girl.Poor guy. He´s the only man!:D

Well, I think they really should talk intensly about having a fourth child.I would be happy for them if they had, and I would be even happier if they would get the boy they want!

    Lets see!:)

  15. DOV Says:

Three kids is hard work, but if you can manage three, four and five are no deal. I have five boys and it is great. Travelling and getting kids ot school on time is a challenge, but they rarely fight, never get bored and would not swap it for anything.

  16. penny Says:

facinelli is soo pretty. like a doll. his second daughter is just a copy of him.
