Tennis star Lindsay Davenport’s world has just expanded by one! She and husband Jonathan Leach welcomed daughter Lauren Andrus Davenport Leach on Saturday, June 27th at 11:04 a.m. in Newport Beach, Calif. Lindsay’s agent reported that “Lindsay and Lauren are doing great, and Jonny and the other man of the family, Jagger, Lauren’s brother, are ecstatic.”

After announcing her pregnancy in December, the three-time Grand Slam champion later revealed that she was expecting a girl and was hoping her daughter would be a tomboy, “because otherwise I don’t know how I’m going to cope,” since she herself does not wear makeup or style her hair.

Lauren joins big brother Jagger Jonathan, 2. Lindsay, 33, and Jonathan were married in 2003.

I felt the same way, I was almost hoping for a boy because I had no idea what to do with a girl since I was such a tomboy. When she was first born I had all neutral colors and refused to buy pink, then I slowly started buying purple and pinks, now I find myself not leaving the house unless my daughter has a matching bow and shoes, she’s my little accessory haha:)

  2. Sarah Says:

I’m surprised she named her daughter Lauren after naming her son Jagger. I was expecting something a little different.

  3. Lorelei Says:

It’s funny, I’m such a girlie girl and wound up with a athletic rough and tumble, beautiful, competitive tomboy who hated dolls from the time she was little. I believe we get the child we’re supposed to have and boy have I learned a lot.

  4. brannon Says:

Love the name Lauren but agree its an odd sibset. And its so true you can’t plan your childs path – but that’s what’s so much fun!

  5. Michelle Says:

That picture of Lindsay and Jagger is one of my favorite celeb-baby pics of all time. I love the expression on Jagger’s face. Congratulations to Lindsay and her family.

  6. Brooklyn Says:

Congrats to them! I like the name Lauren!

Congratulations to Lindsay Jonathan and Jagger Lauren is not my style.

  8. cali Says:

Am I the only one that thought this was a picture of Rosie O’Donnell?

  9. Sam & Freya's Mum Says:

Not a fan of Lauren either, I agree with the poster who expected something diff after jagger, being more ‘trendy’ I guess than older name of Lauren (I have a friend my age in mid 30’s with the name). Anyway, congrats to the family though on arrival. I was also a tomboy into sports growing up and hoped for a boy which we had first time then found out no. 2 while was a girl while preg (had a delivery surprise with our son but wnated to experience both, surprise and then knowing, since she’s our last, glad we did, didn’t ruin it for us knowing, still exciting to meet her), and was freaked out at having a girl, picturing dolls galore and cups of teas etc, but so far our 17mth old is a tomboy anyway or perhaps as she has a big brother to copy, into cars, trucks, trains and more netural toys – occasionally likes girlie things I guess, the odd doll toy but intend to embrace it as she’s older if she is, and also agree about wearing pink, have found my own ‘girlie’ side by having one, didn’t think I’d go near the colour on a child of mine but don’t mind it now, embracing having one of each sex, lol…

  10. Emma Says:

Congrats! I used to love the name Lauren but now only associate it with Catherine Tate’s character “Lauren the Teenager”!!!

  11. jaQ Says:

don’t i love a celebrity who doesn’t use make-up or do her hair. i haven’t owned make-up or nail polish since my early teens. no high heels or curling iron for me. :)

  12. fuzibuni Says:

    lauren is an ‘older’ name?
i think it’s pretty, soft and feminine without being too girlie.
