Take me out to the ball game! Richard Gere and his son Homer James Jigme, 9, were spotted in the New York Yankees dugout on Saturday, prior to the start of the Mets vs. Yankees game at Citi Field in Queens.
Homer, who is named after Richard’s father, is the only child for the actor. Wife Carey Lowell also has a daughter Hannah, 19, from her marriage to Griffin Dunne.

Mira – Anne Heche has 2 sons now. Homer is 5 or 6, with Coley Lafoon. And Atlas is a few months old, with James Tupper (??). Not the biggest fan of the name myself, for the same reason as Millie (#2), but he’s not my kid.
I LOVE Richard Gere and he has a beautiful family!

homer is greek in origin and the name of the greatest poet of all time. it’s very classical. when he’s older and the simpsons wraps up, the reference that will endure will be the classical one.
i think it’s a lovely name. i wouldn’t use it myself but i like the idea of it.
