Josh Turner Welcomes Son Colby Lynch

Everything Is Fine is an understatement for Josh Turner! The country crooner and his wife Jennifer became parents for the second time when they welcomed a baby boy — Colby Lynch Turner — on Friday, June 26th, a rep for the singer confirms to PEOPLE.
“I’m just a proud daddy right now,” says Josh. As for the couple’s first child, Hampton Otis, 2 ½, the toddler is happily stepping into his new role.
“Hampton loves being a big brother and we’re just one big happy family.”
With Josh, 31, spending the last few weeks recording his fourth album, all involved were hoping baby Colby would delay his big debut until the loose ends were tied. “My producer, Frank Rogers, jokingly told Jennifer that she needed to wait until we finished my record before she had the baby,” laughs Josh.
Their wishes were granted; The newest addition to the family arrived only hours after Josh left the studio. “We finished the album last Thursday at 6:00 p.m. After I got home, Jennifer went into labor and we were at the hospital by 10:30 that night. Now that’s what I call perfect timing.”
The couple, who have been married since 2003, announced the pregnancy in February.

Yes.

Fay – the name Lynch is of Irish origin and means mariner so I’m not sure how that would be problematic.

Fay, so if a singer of a different genre of music gave their child the middle name lynch, that would be ok? I think we’re reading a little too much into the name there…it’s likely a family name, maybe the mother’s maiden name, or josh’s mom’s maiden name.

sorry, i’m recently back to the southern part of the country, and seeing confederate flags everywhere i go… maybe i was reading too much into it… but i don’t like it…

Colby’s not common/popular where I live downunder, so am probably just influenced by that, trends in diff countries sometimes etc, but not a fan, reminds me too much of Colby as in a type of cheese, lol, but each to their own. Prefer older son’s name.

Might be slightly bias but LOVE the name Colby…being as it’s my 1st Born’s name. I was born on the Isle of Man (a wee small Island in the middle of the Irish Sea, located inbetween Ireland, Scotland and England) There is a small town called Colby here. Although not a popular choice it’s a true Manx name. His full name is Colby Harry Cain-James and he’s 3 and half now and soooo cute I could eat him whole!!!
