Strike a pose! Six-year-old Rowan Francis Henchy — sporting braids! — is an old pro, while little sister Grier Hammond wasn’t quite so sure at Sunday’s EB Medical Research Foundation picnic in Malibu, Calif.

Mom Brooke Shields says she appreciates her 3-year-old’s resolve!

“When I try to get [Grier] to do tricks, she’ll say ‘No, I cannot.’ Just flat out,” Brooke recently explained. “I never even said that. I should learn from her. It’s a big thing, especially in Hollywood, to say ‘No I’m not comfortable with that, no I cannot.’ I learn from her. They’re their own people. I don’t think they have the patience for it; They’re very theatrical and very dramatic, but all kids are.”

   Rowan’s braids look beautiful. Brooke is, as always beautiful, and she has a lovely family.

   Looks like Grier really got some height in the genes, she’s not much shorter than her sister but 3 years younger. Though Rowan isnt standing totally upright, maybe its an illusion. My first is 3 and waist high on my 5′11″. My second (both girls) is running consistantly 2-3 inches shorter than #1 was, though still 95th percentile- shows how tall the first one is!

   Gorgeous girls, love their reddish blonde hair! And Rowan must be a seriously patient girl to sit for all those braids!! I got them for camp when I was about 12, it took forever!

    Brooke looks soo pretty here and I love her shoes!There is something aobut her that seems so real…she comes across humble.She has said that the Grier favors her husband and I think Rowan is looking like her.
