That article on African American adoption was horrible. They didn’t seem to incorporate any actual statistics about black women adopting. The article just seems badly pieced together as a lot of AA related articles from CNN seem to be.
Also, those list of hippie names are dreadful.
and I bet N.R line will be pretty good.

Anon, I agree! The article was interesting, but there were few facts and seemed like a bunch of random statements thrown together.

Agreed! No data to back up the assertions. And seriously, what was the point to the bit about families not wanting to adopt kids who were darker? That was so random.

Agree, and agree. The CNN article was not a very good piece of journalism. African American women aren’t getting married because there are a lack of qualified African American men…? That seems like a bit of a close-minded assumption. And comparing children to different colored candy? Yikes.
As for the “hippie-inspired” names. I’d be kicking my parents if they’d named me “Season” or “Welcome.” Glad my parents rebelled against trends and went with a classic “Margaret.”
