Celtics’ Ray Allen Welcomes Son Wynn Ryder

His own personal basketball team is almost complete! Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen and his wife Shannon welcomed their third son together on Friday, June 26th in Boston, Mass., his rep tells CBB exclusively. Baby boy Wynn Ryder Allen weighed in at 8 lbs., 11 oz, and measured 22 ½ inches in length.

“We are blessed and excited to welcome the birth of our newest son, Wynn Ryder,” says Shannon.

Baby boy is welcomed by big brothers Ray III, 4, and Walker, 2, and sister Tierra, 16, Ray’s daughter from a previous relationship.

Off the court, Ray and Shannon are known for their dedication in the fight against diabetes; Their son Walker has been diagnosed with the disease. Ray holds a spot on the International Board of Trustees at the Joslin Diabetes Center, while Shannon was recently appointed to the International Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

   aw, congrats to ray & family! wynn is an interesting name that i haven’t heard before. 22.5 inches seems long to me! no wonder i guess, with dad as a basketball player!!

   I love Wynn! If we have a boy, he will be Windsor, probably nicknamed Win, but I just loved that spelling!

   I had no idea they were expecting another baby! I love the name Wynn Ryder! CBB is right! The way they are going they will have a basketball team! 3 boys??? WOW!!! CONGRATS!!!

   There is a very popular hotel in Las Vegas called Wynn. Maybe that’s where the boy was made, who knows

   I have never heard Wynn for a boy. There is Amy Wynn Pastor on the DIY network…I have a great friend called, Wynn…but not for a boy. I love it thought! By way of some of the other celeb names, this is a lovely name.

   Lisa – The Wynn resort in Las Vegas, where I am from, is named after the owner Steve Wynn.

   I am seriously hoping they did not name their new son after Steve Wynn or his resort. Can’t imagine why anyone would want to name their child after someone who is believed to have some type of tie to the mob or corruption with city council.

    They have really interesting baby names….but their kids are adorable I remember seeing Walker on a commercial with Ray and his wife!
