"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

Kendra Wilkinson Says Baby ‘Will Definitely Be Christian’

Although they are still months away from welcoming their first child, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett have a definite idea about the kind of parents they hope to be. The 24-year-old reality television star recently told FOX News that their baby-on-the-way “will definitely be Christian,” and her new husband vowed that the couple will “spoil” him or her while still staying “very strict.” Hank adds,

“They are going to have to earn it, we’re not just going to hand it to them. Most importantly, they have to keep good grades because school comes first and then everything else after that.”

Having a baby is something the couple always planned to pursue, so Hank says the couple feels “truly excited and truly blessed” to tackle parenthood so early on in their marriage. “We pretty much fell in love right away and when you ask someone to marry you that means you really want them to be the woman in charge of your family, the person to be your teammate in raising the child,” he explains. Now that Kendra is happily settling into her second trimester, she says she is feeling “great” — and looking forward to learning the sex of their baby, due around Christmas. She adds,

“If it’s a boy Hank the 4th and if it’s a girl Arianna, we love Arianna.”

  1. M Says:

    She is very Christian herself.

  2. Mia Says:

I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean, and I don’t believe in organized religion, but regardless what decisions she has made professionally, she is still a good person: understands right from wrong, and very much full of love and positive energy, as long she instills good/humane qualities in her children, nothing else matters.

  3. Becky Says:

I think this could have been phrased better. She can raise her child in the Christian faith, but belief can’t be forced.

  4. Diane Says:

    I’m glad to hear this.

  5. erinbeth Says:

am i the only one a little confused by this statement? maybe it’s the editing of the article, but did she mean to say that the baby will be raised with Christian values? i’m not sure which of those values i’ve seen her demonstrate on either of her reality shows, but perhaps that’s all editing, too.

  6. Ani Says:

It’s also very unChristian or any religion at all to be judgmental.

  7. marimel Says:

I took it to mean that their child(ren) will be raised as Christians and would be baptized or committed into the Church as infants and those beliefs will be instilled in the child until he/she is old enough to make his/her own decision on faith and religious beliefs. I don’t feel like Kendra’s lifestyle means she completely lacks Christian values; many people of many faiths do what they feel is best for them at that point in their lives, even if it doesn’t completely coincide with what their religion believes in and supports. Besides, we all know how much reality goes into “reality” TV, I’m sure she plays up the provocative, air-head act for the show. Regardless, I think she’s absolutely hysterical and the love between her and Hank is endearing. From what I have seen of Hank, he is an excellent role model for young men out there, especially in regards to how to treat a woman and be a family man… I certainly hope THAT isn’t just for the show!

I think everything Mia said was very eloquent and I agree with every word.

  9. Angi Says:

What ever works for her family.

p.s. For all your “Christians” sitting in judgment of her, just remember…

    MATTHEW 7:1-5:

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

  10. Lola Marie Says:

    Good for you Kendra!

  11. SweetDiva Says:

I love the way Hank speaks about marriage and family. Sometimes love transforms person so much that want to set new standards for themselves. It sounds like, in spite of what Kendra may have done in the past, she has her eyes firmly set on a new purpose.

  12. megan Says:

I love the name arianna thats my daughters name and we call her ria. I love this nickname its right from the name and seems very kendra to me.

  13. L Says:

You cant force anything but a bottle on a baby Becky…taken completely out of context…shes giving a comment not sitting and pondering for hours on her exact word for word

I saw on E! that it was a boy…maybe that was a rumor..!?

    Well said Marimel…well said!

  14. Alyssa Says:

Kendra doesn’t even sem bright enough to follow through with such strong statements. Does she even know anything about religion?…the girl couldn’t even figure out a grocery store let alone raise her child with “Christian Values.” I see that as going right out the window in that household.

  15. mp Says:

I tend to agree with those who think this statement is a bit rich given how Kendra rose to fame … but parenthood can tame the wildest folks. Let’s hope for the best.

  16. Cristina Says:

I love Kendra! I think she is hilarious! When I was prenant with my daughter almost 8 years ago my due date was also Dec 25 and guess what name I picked out? Ariana! She ended up being born on Dec 22 but she is the best Christmas gift to us ever and I’m sure Kendra will feel the same about her baby.

  17. Kasee Says:

Some of you are so mean! Kendra is really young, and maybe she is starting to realize that the person she was isn’t really who she wants to continue to be anymore. Maybe she wants better for her child than what she did. That’s not necessarily being hypocritical; it’s called learning from your mistakes. Maybe Kendra has been introduced to Christianity by Hank, and has learned from it so she wants that experience for her child. Who knows? She can’t win. If she stayed the way she was, you all would criticize her as a bad role model for her child. Now that she wants to clean up her act, she still gets criticized. Luckily for her, she has a hot husband who appears to adore her and she is about to have a child with him, so she likely doesn’t give a flying fart in space about what strangers say about her.

  18. Terri Says:

It was worded strangely, but I think we get the jist. Look, there are worse things in the world than trying to instill some values in a child – even you don’t believe in religion or God.

  19. CrystalDex Says:

First off Kendra is even more beautiful pregnant.

I think she is trying to make a positive change for the better for her new family that is in the making. Good for her!

I hope a lot of you are ashamed for the way you are judging her! A good Christian does not do that, maybe it is time for those who sit in judgement to go back and read the Bible.

Also, lucky for her to have such a strong, determined, loyal man who adores her and their soon to be blessing. They both seem very well grounded, and from the comments that they have made recently they will make great parents.

  20. Allie-Rose Says:

I can’t believe how judgmental some of you can be. Can’t you give the woman a chance? Sure, she dated Hugh Hefner for years and was everything that goes with being a Playboy bunny, but obviously her heart is in the right place and she’s willing to change and grow as a person. Give her at least the benefit of doubt!

  21. J-Lin Says:

    Is Kendra a Christian?

Don’t just talk the talk. Walk the walk.

  22. jessie Says:

darn, i was gonna use the name arianna, lol

  23. Kara S. Says:

Hank is very religious. I attended school with him and youth group at our chruch. He was in FCA with me (we were both school athletes) and his parents still attend the same church.

They raised him the same way he says he is going to be raising his child.

    Good for Hank AND Kendra!!

  24. Dani Says:

Good pick! We like the name Ariana too, but with just one “n”.

What I find funny (in a good way) is that Kendra and Ariana are the names of Dumbledore’s mother and sister in the Harry Potter books. I wonder if Kendra and Hank know that.

  25. jesse Says:

i’m happy for hank & kendra! they are bringing a child into this world that is completely wanted, unlike so many “oopsies”. they seem to thrive from each other & i’m sure will make wonderful parents. kendra’s actions in the past have made her who she is today & hank loves her for that. she can only go forward with her life & i’m so glad she’s so excited for it! congrats to them!
