"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

Cybex Strollers, Car Seats and Baby Carrier Preview

2-Go Baby Carrier

Cybex is coming! Not to be confused with the gym equipment manufacturer, this German company will be offering infant and booster car seats, baby carriers and strollers.

We had a preview of the line that will be available late summer and winter.

We were impressed by all of Cybex’s products, but the 2-Go Baby Carrier ($100) really blew us out of the water.

Suitable for babies from 3 months up to 40 lbs, it has ergonomically formed shoulder straps and distributes the child’s weight evenly on the parent’s hips, not back — similar to the ErgoBABY Carrier, but with even more positions and way more style.

There are 5 positions; facing inwards, hip position — facing inwards, front facing outwards, front facing as a mobility seat — for older babies with the top part folded down, and on the parent’s back.

Read more to hear about which products we’re most excited about!

Solution X-Fix Booster Seat

The Aton Infant Car Seat (price TBD) is for babies up to 30 lbs, has a force absorbing shell, removable inlay (to grow with the child) and can be used, with an adapter, as a travel system with the Cybex’s Callisto, Onyx, and Topaz Strollers.

The Solution X-Fix Booster Seat (price TBD) is for children ages 3 ½ – 12,  has a 3 position headrest, linear side impact protection, reclining backrest, and 11 height positions (so the booster seat can grow with a child).

Ruby lightweight stroller

Cybex’s strollers include the Callisto and the “gem” strollers: Topaz, Onyx and Ruby.

The Callisto ($350) has terrific spring loaded suspension, a two part fold (very common in European strollers), 3 position sun canopy, weighs 20 lbs, and a detachable bumper bar. It turns into a travel system with their Aton Infant Car Seat or a carry cot (around $160).

The Topaz ($260) has a detachable bumper bar, a height adjustable handlebar, 4 reclining positions, 2 position leg rest and weighs 17 lbs.

The Onyx ($220) has 4 reclining positions, a 2 position leg rest and weighs 15 lbs. Both the Topaz and the Onyx will also take the Aton Car Seat with the adapter.

The lightweight Ruby ($140), which is suitable from 6 months on, is 11 lbs and has a two-position seat.

All strollers come with rain covers and the amazing Central One-Pull Harness System — just push a button to loosen the harness straps, fit it to your child, and then pull the strap below it to tighten the harness.

The strollers and baby carrier are set to debut in late summer and the car seats in winter.

The picture with the carrier looks really weird. I thought when I first saw it the baby didn’t have any legs because of the white pants and the white background! LOL!

  2. Marie Says:

A hint: Babies should not be carried facing outwards as it is not good for their backs.

I live in Europe and have had a Cybex Onyx for several months now. It is uncomfortable for newborns even when the seat is totally reclined. The straps are not paddled and are kind of coarse. The wheels are not very stable now after these months use (my baby is 5 months old). The sun protection – I dont know how it is called- is not wide enough.

To be completely honest I cannot recommend this chair. Maybe other parents have better experiences. However, the staff in Cybex are really helpful and always replied quickly when there was a problem.

  3. Anna Says:

The baby in the carrier is practically doing the splits. I don’t see how anybody would want to sit like that for very long.

  4. jessica Says:

Sounds good, but I don’t like the look. It looks strange with that circle near the baby’s bottom.

  5. lawgirl Says:

I’d love to hear from anyone who has tried the baby carrier. I have lots of back problems and would love to find an appropriate carrier by the time I have a baby.

  6. ingrid Says:

@Anna: that is the correct leg-position for babies, because it supports the correct developement of the child’s hips! if you lift a newborn it puts his/her feet into exactly that position… the best position in a babycarrier is: knees at the level of the bellybutton.

plus it is much more comfortable than hanging only on your pubic bone without any other support! (like dangling on a bicycle without your feet touching the ground… ouch!

  7. liana Says:

I live in Germany and have been using the carrier and the Topaz for a couple of months now. both are fantastic, really, the Topaz is very easy to push, even on bad streets like pavement and does not shake the baby so much. the carrier is very comfortable for the baby, and for my back (wich was killing me the months before…) my daughter always wanted to be carried around and we travel a lot, but she actually can even sleep inside it, and she is 14 moths old now!!! I have tried several carriers, including the Ergo and Manduca (very popular in Europe, but the Cybex suited us best…no comparisson to Baby Bjorn, against wich german pediatricians started a wave, trying to ban it…

  8. liana Says:

and I forgot to say, my husband and I are quite tall, so this was the ONLY stroller, that fitted us, even the Mclaren did not…

  9. Jenny Travaille Says:

We were reading that August would be the launch date. Has anyone been able to purchase this carrier in the U.S. yet?
