Malcolm McDowell’s Motivation? College Expenses!

Despite having already surpassed the standard age of retirement, Malcolm McDowell is still going strong in the movie industry with his new film Halloween 2.

While his love for acting certainly serves as a motivating factor — he laughs that the business keeps him young — the 66-year-old tells PARADE that his five children Lily Amanda, 27, Charles Malcolm, 25, Beckett Taylor, 5 ½, Finnian Anderson, 2 ½, and Seamus Hudson, 7 ½ months, keep him striving for success at his age. “I love what I do,” Malcolm says.

“But it just reminds me I can’t afford to retire. I have to pay for their college.”

Recently bringing Seamus to the premiere of his movie, Malcolm admits it’s not unusual for he and wife Kelley to pack the family’s bags and bring baby along for the ride. “I’ve got three young children, one’s a baby that my wife and I drag around to film locations,” he reveals. However, as a veteran father, Malcolm shares the task is often easier said than done, before adding that the rewards are well worth the struggle!

“It’s not easy to travel with them, something of a logistical nightmare actually, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love them to death.”

Halloween 2 is now in theaters. Lily and Charles are his children with ex-wife Mary Steenburgen, while Beckett, Finnian, and Seamus are his boys with Kelley.
