Elisabeth Röhm Cuddles Her Cutie

Elisabeth Röhm scoops up her daughter, 17-month-old Easton August Anthony, at Saturday’s premiere of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
As a mom, Elisabeth says she focuses on “being in the moment” with her daughter, rather than on milestones.
“I think you can spend so much time saying ‘I can’t wait until they walk, I can’t wait until they talk, I can’t wait until they do this,’ that you are not really with them right there. A child is a gift.”
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs hits theaters Friday.
Easton is wearing a babyGap dress from their summer collection.

Does her daughter have special needs? I am not trying to be insensitive but her comment almost alludes to that; have I missed something she announced?

I have been dying to see a picture of Easton. She is beautiful.

such a beautiful little girl! I have that same gap dress for my daughter!

They have the exact same eyes. Beautiful.

@Shay– I don’t think so. Everything she says sounds like this– I think she just has that Amanda Peet “I know everything and this is how you should do things” attitude. She seems to be saying that people who focus on milestones rather than just staying in the moment with their children are missing out, and that she’s doing it right of course….

I can’t believe Easton is 17 months already! It seems like she was born just a year ago! Beautiful little girl!

I have to say I highly doubt that. Elisabeth is very hippy dippy/peace and love in her interviews. I do not think she meant it that way at all.
Easton is quite cute and I agree looks like her mom. Does anyone know if Elisabeth and her fiance are still engaged? You don’t see them together any more. I wish we could see if she was wearing her ring.

wow, did she not give birth like a few months ago, her kid big for her age.

To me, her comment meant that some people are so focused on impending milestones (i.e. crawling, walking, talking), that they forget to sit back and just enjoy whatever stage their child’s at. I find this to be true. Children grow so quickly. One moment, you’re bringing them home from the hospital, the next, they’re exploring around the house. It makes you wonder where the time went.
Nothing she said sounded anywhere near pretentious.

She’s cute! I really like Elisabeth – and miss her on Law and Order.
She looks so much bigger than the average 17 month old! I would have guessed she was at least two and a 1/2!

I had the pleasure of meeting Elisabeth when she was pg w/Easton. She is very nice and very down to Earth. I believe she says the things she does because she is very much in love with her child and with motherhood. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree Easton looks quite tall for her age. But she is a cutie! Does anyone know if number 2 is on the way for Elisabeth? It looks like it to me in the pic. Maybe its just the dress? Anyhow Elisabeth looks radiant in motherhood.

I totally agree with her. I had the misfortune of having a baby around the same time as a good friend who turned into the milestone nazi. Honestly she always wanted her daughter to walk before yours, say more words etc etc. I honestly couldn’t have cared less about such things as long as my child was healthy. I think that approach communicates to your child they they are loved regardless of their abilities. Its about the relationship…which you grow moment by moment by paying attention to who they are not what you want them to one day be.

Wow, time has passed so quickly! I remember when she was just born! Easton is a beauty, just like her Mom.

Were is that dress Easton is wearing from?

The dress is from this summer’s Baby Gap Corsica line. If it’s still available it will be on sale!

The dress is from the gap, I’m pretty sure.

Super cute! And great reminder about living in the moment. Every child develops at slightly different stages than the next – if you spend your time comparing your kid to the next – you’ll miss all the good stuff!
