Amy Poehler Can’t Believe Her Son Is Turning 1

Halloween is a special time for Amy Poehler – and not because she’s obsessed with witches or carving jack-o’-lanterns.
“As an adult living in New York City, Halloween is a little redundant,” says the Parks and Recreation star. “For a long time, I got to wear a lot of wigs and dress up. I always wanted to take a break from that [because] I was never a very big Halloween person, but maybe that will change.”
That’s because this Halloween Amy, 38, has somebody else to dress up: Her son, Archibald ‘Archie’ William Emerson, will turn 1 on Sunday, October 25th.
“This year has been an outstanding year and really a thrilling one,” she says. “It’s gone by really, really fast and I can’t believe he’s 1.”
“Children are amazing for so many reasons and one of them is that they kind of punctuate your life,” Amy says of the milestone. “Often our lives go by so fast without enjoying the moment and being able to reflect. When you have a person living in your house that is growing next to you it’s just amazing to watch and reflect the passage of time.”

I like what she said about children punctuating your life, so true. I find myself feeling that way often, more now that she’s getting older and asking questions about everything. I remember how fun little things are through her eyes and experiences. Like she screams at the top of her lungs with excitement at the sight of a bus, I can’t help but laugh all the time:)
He is so bald and precious! I hope they have more kids, they are too funny!

Our nephew Jake turned 1 yesterday, 24th, and the year’s flown by. Archie is a cutie, little baldie, unlike our nephew with a head full of hair. Sure it will come when it’s ready to sprout on top, lol.

My birthday is on October 24th, hehe. I bet he had a great birthday and he’s sooo cute. I have an 8 month old daughter and time is just flying by! I am sure her 1st birthday will seem like it came TOO fast! My daughter has changed my life and makes me proud of her and myself for creating her. Children are such a blessing so everyone give your children the best birthday’s possible….they deserve it!!!
