"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

Mark Wahlberg Confirms Baby No. 4 Is a Girl

Ramey

It’s an equal-opportunity family for Mark Wahlberg, who’s expecting his fourth child with wife Rhea Durham.

“I’m having another girl,” Mark told PEOPLE at GQ’s The Gentleman’s Ball at New York’s Edison Ballroom on Wednesday. “So I’ll have two girls and two boys.”

But four is probably enough for the Boston native, 38.

“I’m the youngest of nine, and my dad has a few others. No, four is enough,” he said. “We were all raised with a lot of love. But we didn’t get the kind of attention I think that we all needed. My parents had to provide to put food on the table. My mission in life is to raise my kids right. With all the success I’ve had in the world, if I fail at that, my life means nothing.”

Still, Mark says he’ll leave family planning up to Rhea, a former model.

“My wife is allowed to pick the magic number … as many as she wants to have,” he said. “What I want to do is I want to raise my kids right. I want to give them the world, but I also want them to appreciate it.”

As it is, brother Jim Wahlberg said he suspects Mark’s clan will continue to grow. “He’s good to go! He ain’t stoppin’,” said the sibling. “He’s got beautiful kids.”

Mark and Rhea are parents to Ella Rae, 6, Michael, 3 ½, and Brendan Joseph, 13 months.

Aww sweet, they’ll be evens stevens. And Ella will have a sister! Those boys will be in trouble with the older one and younger one ganging up on them.

  2. Courtney Says:

that is sweet congrats to them on getting two of each funny I’ve always thought that a mom to be glows more when she’s having a girl and Rhea deffinately has that going for her this time

  3. Lis Says:

Just like the Samuel-Klums! Oldest and youngest are girls, with two boys in the middle ;)

Darling! I want two of each also! I’m so envious of those that wind up that lucky!

  4. Lis Says:

P.S. – Does anyone know when Rhea is due?

  5. Alicia Says:

Rhea’s due in December. I agree with Mark’s brother. I think they’ll have one more. I can see them with five, or six if they want to make it even ;) . Rhea’s only 31 so I’m sure in a couple years she’ll want another baby. I knew it was going to be a girl because Rhea looks too happy, lol. I’m so jealous that Ella has a baby sister on the way! That’s awesome.

  6. Philippa Says:

Oh that is so cute! 2 boys and 2 girls :D

  7. JMO Says:

Perfect Family!! Can’t wait to see what beautiful name they give to their new daughter.

  8. Lia Says:

  9. Mary-Helen Says:

    Aw…what a lovely sentinment *swoons*

  10. Alicia Says:

Another thing, go to imdb.com and look up Rhea. Click on her name and scroll down to the message board. Click ‘more’. You may need an IMDB account to access it. It’s free though. Anyway, there’s some great articles about Rhea from when she was a teenager and so forth. It’s great stuff.

  11. gianna Says:

I think they will stop at four kids, most people stop at 3-4 kids nowadays especially when you have them close together and both sexes already.

  12. Lauren Says:

I remember an interview Rhea gave when Michael was a baby where she said she wanted two more, but I have a feeling they won’t stop here. Rhea’s got plenty of time age-wise to raise these four and then have one or two more years later once this brood’s a little older/in school. I do think Mark’s point about individual attention for each child is very well taken. Parents and people in general really underestimate the importance of that I think, and in the end the kids definitely feel the ill effects. Anyway, I’m glad it’s another girl to Ella can get her sister and the family will be even.

  13. Helen Says:

Methinks that Mark and Rhea will give their girl a sensible name, like the eldest three.

  14. Alicia Says:

I think they’ll give their daughter a a name that has four letters because Michael and Brendan each have seven letters. Mark, Rhea, and Ella each have four letters. I’m thinking Laci. Laci Wahlberg sounds cute. Do any of you have any names in mind for them?

  15. Ply Says:

Alicia, I doubt they will name their daughter Laci. Their other children have classic, traditional names.

  16. cassie Says:

awesome! they are a cute family

  17. Lia Says:

    How about Lucy or Leah?

  18. Mia Says:

Aw, so great! Congrats to them!

  19. Lia Says:

    or Nora

  20. Stephany Says:

I’m so happy for them! Two boys and two girls…just perfect! I’m sure Ella is excited to have a baby sister!

  21. Alicia Says:

Lia, those are really pretty names. I was also thinking about Rene or Reve (pronounced Ra-vay). LOL, I always try to guess what name someone will give their child. I always think I have an idea but I’m always completely surprised in the end. It’s fun to guess though. :)

  22. Tina. Says:

cool! :) hmm baby names? i like Veronica or Laura. maybe that name Laura Wahlberg.

  23. Jennifer Says:

I’m so glad it’s a girl. I had read before that Ella had really wanted a girl when each of her brothers were born so she’s probably over the moon now!

I was surprised to hear Mark say this would probably be it, because he had never said that in interviews I’d read before. But I totally get what he said about his parents having nine and trying to dole out equal attention while working to provide for them, too. I can’t even imagine how hard that would be!

  24. angelbaby33 Says:

How fun! I also have 4 that are 7,5,3 and 1 and they are also girl, boy, boy and girl. The nurse who helped deliver baby #4 realized that the oldest and youngest were girls and called them bookends! I thought that it was a great way to state it and it made me laugh!

  25. Bancie1031 Says:

Awww I was right …. It is a little girl for Mark and Rhea! I can’t wait to hear what name they pick for her. I bet that Ella is so excited since she’s been wanting a little sister.

I just absolutely love this family!!!

I will be surprised if this is their last little baby though. But regardless congratulations to them and I wish them the best of luck with a easy delivery.

  26. k-kai Says:

They will choose a traditional name for sure. I’m guessing Olivia or Charlotte.

  27. MamaJ Says:

Perhaps they will follow on with their new little one’s name ending with an “a”. We will soon see!

  28. mel Says:

    I love the name Claire.
Pearl is a good one too^^
Rhea is one of the most beautiful models out there, just google her and you´ll see.

  29. Sophia Says:

Oh how cute :) Reminds me of the Klum-Samuel family. Girl, boy, boy, girl. I’m sure this new baby girl will be just as gorgeous as her siblings. As far as names go, I’m thinking Lily, Hannah, Sophia, Charlotte, Olivia, Grace, Abigail or Lucy. It’s bound to be something classic/traditional. Anyway, I’m so happy for Mark and Rhea and their beautiful children :)
