It’s a boy for Mary Stuart Masterson and husband Jeremy Davidson, her rep tells PEOPLE.
The actress, 43, delivered a son on Sunday, October 11th. Further details are unavailable at this time.
The baby boy is the first child for the couple, who met during a 2004 production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and married in 2006. They announced the pregnancy in May.

Agreed, Fried Green Tomato’s was a GREAT movie, And Idgie Threadgoode was My favourite Character, Her sass and pain in the butt attitude made her role awesome:) I also love her in L&O SVU!! This Woman is a truly talented actress:)

I agree with Hea, Benny & Joon is such a great movie… I’d even go as far as saying a favourite (and for a long time I considered calling my firstborn Juniper after MSM’s character!)

Just a big fan of Mary’s, saw her on Broadway and some movies. Lots of talent, not to many breaks. I am very happy she and her baby made it safely through the prengancy. God Bless you both.

Holly- I know, and that brings to mind something I’ve been wondering about for awhile. As you pointed out, it IS an accomplishment to have a baby, let alone a healthy one, at 43.
However, plenty of female celebs have had babies in their 40s, and some even in their 50s….and almost all of those babies are healthy (in fact, the only celeb I can think of who’s given birth to a baby with health issues in the last several years is Sarah Palin, who’s youngest son Trig has Down Syndrome).
I’m glad all those babies are healthy, but I’ve been wondering for awhile…How in the world do all of those 40 and 50 something celebs manage to have perfectly healthy babies, when “normal” women often have babies with health problems at those ages?

Because they do extensive genetic testing on women if they want it when they are of advanced maternal age, and they probably terminate if there are issues. You can find out alot of information in utero if you want to know it.

Celebrities are also not as ‘abundant’ as us regular folk, which from a statistical standpoint, may also explain why these women don’t appear to encounter as many problems (congenital defect/complication-wise) as other women of advanced childbearing age do. A lot of this is numbers. If the world were dominated by celebrity older moms, I’d venture to guess the numbers would be quite different.
And as another poster pointed out, genetics testing has come a long way too.
You can find out all sorts of information well before a baby is brought into the world.

With parents who’s names are Mary and Jeremy, I’m guessing this baby boy’s name is something very classic and traditional.

CelebBabyLover (#13) – That would be my guess, too. Although, due to the fact that both parents names are classic in themselves, they surprise us and go the other way entirely and pick something more trendy and modern. I guess we’ll have to see!!
