Pete Wentz: Bronx’s Birthday Will Be Spongebob Style
Flynet |
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? None other than Spongebob Squarepants, Bronx Mowgli’s new best friend, according to dad Pete Wentz.
Reaffirming wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s sentiments that the cartoon character is a hit in their household, the Fall Out Boy rocker tells Ryan Seacrest that the couple’s son, who turns 1 later this month, is likely going to celebrate his first year in Spongebob style.
“We got the one-year birthday coming up which is going to be pretty awesome,” he says. “I think we’re going to go Spongebob.”
As for party decorations, Pete and Ashlee need not look too far.
“We have these giant Spongebob paintings in our house and I said, ‘Spongebob’ a couple times when we were walking by it. Now [Bronx] has to stop every time we walk by and he says, ‘Bob.’”
Pete and Ashlee aren’t the only ones touched by Bronx’s love of all things Spongebob; Bob, Pete’s manager, believes baby boy has taken a liking to the name after spending time with him. “I swear to God he thinks [Bronx] says ‘Bob’ because of him and I don’t want to break his heart!” the proud papa laughs.

It’s not going to a Jungle Book theme? That book inspired the kid’s name. He’s a beautiful child, but his parents gave him such an awful name.

I can’t believe he’s going to be one, already. Time flies.

Every second I watch Spongebob makes me feel like I’m losing brain cells. It’s so ridiculous, and not in a funny way. I’m also surprised they’re not going with a Disney theme, given their wedding was Disney, they named their son after a Disney character..

This baby and daddy are so precious. Its effort to be a good parent that counts! And when Pete shares his thoughts about his baby boy, its sweet! I know that Ash and Pete will make sure that Bronx’s birthday is fun! That name is for them as a family, and the little boy will grow up laughing and telling his version of his special name. Its all good! People. Its will be ok.

Bronx and my sister Auggy were both born on Nov. 20. She will be one just like him on that day.

Pete & Ashley are simply doing what great parents do….giving their baby a FUN first birthday party. The 1st birthday party is so tiring for the little one and sometimes can be scary, as parents, (like myself) tend to go overboard. The bottom line is that Sponge Bob is Bronx’s favorite “character” right now and he relates to Sponge Bob, so let them throw the party that their little guy will love. As for Bronx’s name, I must say to those of you commenting poorly about it – YOU NEED TO FIND SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO DO WITH YOUR TIME – why would anyone say something negative about anyone’s name??? It is only a name for crying out loud and certainly is hurtful for someone to hear rude remarks about their personal name. Did some of you forget the golden rule in life…if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. I am done preaching now and just want to say to Pete & Ashley that I sincerely hope Bronx has an awesome 1st birthday celebration. Make sure someone video tapes the special day…our daughter (now
loves to watch her 1st Birthday Party that we recorded.

Jeanie General- I couldn’t agree more! Saying that you don’t particularly care for a name is one thing, but to say things like “his parents gave him such an awful name” is quite another.
Obviously it will be years before Bronx is old enough to read this, if he even reads it all. Even so, I doubt any of us would like it if we were told our name was awful!
