Tim McGraw Masters Patience For His Family of Females

There is much to be learned as the father of three girls and Tim McGraw has certainly mastered a lesson or two in dealing with women since becoming a parent. However, the country crooner’s greatest lesson to date is, by far, the power of patience. “I have a hard time waiting, which is horrible because I live with four women,” he tells Reader’s Digest.

“I had to learn not to get dressed until they say they’re ready to walk out the door, because I’ll still have 30 minutes.”

Fortunately, as his wife Faith Hill and their three daughters Gracie Katherine, 12, Maggie Elizabeth, 11, and Audrey Caroline, 7 ½ — who Tim laughs will date when he’s dead — primp, the 42-year-old is able to retreat to his own comfort zone: his worn-out leather recliner. “It’s ugly brown leather — fake probably,” he says, adding that “somebody’s always in my chair.”

That said, those days are quickly come to a close — for both Tim and his girls — if Faith has her way.

“We’re building a new house, and Faith swears it’s not going to make the trip. She hates it. Until she sits in it. Then she loves it.”

While he may joke about his estrogen-filled household, Tim admits his favorite part of the day is simply unwinding with his gang of girls. “Everyone is home; dinner is cooking,” he shares. “And bedtime. We put the kids to sleep, and Faith and I get into bed and take a deep breath.”

Tim’s new movie The Blind Side is in theaters November 20th.

The chair story made me laugh. My husband wanted a laz-y-boy recliner which I thought was god-awful. It’s hidden away in our room-not out in a common area. Yet-where do I pick to sit to read or watch tv? The horrible recliner!

  2. Xan Says:

I really admire Tim and Faith. They seem like a strong pair and don’t push their girls into the spotlight. That said, I saw a sneak preview of “The Blind Side” recently and Tim was amazing! So rarely can singers act well!

  3. mom to 3 boys Says:

This family seems like they are down to earth. Tim and Faith keep their girls out of the limelight, which I like.

  4. Myra Robinson Says:

I agree with these others about Tim and Faith. they are so down to earth and you can sure tell their family means everything to them. these two are solid as a rock.I love them so much. I am sure Faith is probably teasing Tim,he will probably have that old recliner in the new home, which they are now in.

  5. Myra Robinson Says:

seems rather strange that he doesnt have much patience to wait for his all female brood, but he doesnt seem to mind having to wait to do a movie scene, but he probably stays busy with the girls doing something, who knows. sandra bullock said he has such humility and his family does. she said there isnt a moment that goes by that you cant see how grateful him and Faith are for what they have and how much they appreciate each other.
