A Day in the Life of CBB
CBB Day in the Life: What Jennifer does all day, night (and weekends, too!)
As a celebrity writer and photographer for Celebrity Baby Blog, I’ve had the chance to interview and photograph today’s top pregnant celebrities. It’s been an absolute dream job. There have been countless times when I’ve been shooting a celeb, like Jodie Sweetin, or Melissa Joan Hart, for example, and I think, “How did I get this lucky?” Well, there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. Here’s a glimpse into my life as a celeb photographer.

A Day in the Life of CBB: Shannon tells us about her day as a Celebrity Baby Blog senior contributor
Shannon is our Senior Contributor and the main contributor from Australia, or "down under" as foreigners like to say. She has been writing for CBB since January 2006.
My current situation has me studying at uni "full-time," working for CBB and also working at a clothing store. However, working "full-time" has me actually at university for five hours, two days a week. Although, there is quite a bit of work that I have to do while I am not there — preparing for classes, doing readings and completing assignments. I then work 2-3 half or full days at the clothing store. Currently, I am clocking about 15 hours, but it really depends on the time of the year, how busy we are, how busy I am and how much I want to work on the site. It’s all pretty flexible — CBB, my uni work and work at the clothes store.

A Day in the Life of CBB: What Sarah does all day (and evening!)
Sarah is our former news editor/current senior contributor and the site’s Jane-of-all-trades. She’s been writing for the Celebrity Baby Blog since summer 2004, and full-time since 2006.
In trying to think of the best way to describe my work day (and night!) at CBB, the most appropriate word seems to be ‘constant.’ Although a lot of what I (and Angela, my virtual sidekick!) do is repetitive, it needs to be that way so that we as a staff stay on top of things and are consistently able to bring you fresh and updated content.
If you log on to the site multiple times a day, we want you to always have something new to read and look at, whether it be a breaking news story on the latest pregnancy announcement, paparazzi images, a feature on gear or fashion, an exclusive interview, a baby’s first photoshoot, and more. To do that, we constantly monitor the site — Angela and I split duties on this, covering for the other if we have appointments; however, a usual day for me runs 8-10 hours, and has sometimes even hit the 13 hour mark!
Typically, I roll out of bed at 7:30 am, get my cup of coffee, grab my MacBook, and promptly glue my butt to the couch. I do have an office space — it’s quite nice, in fact — but I’m just not inclined to use it. My kitten, Ophelia, gets more mileage out of my office chair than I do (that’s her snoozing in it above). Instead, I’m a big fan of the couch, the porch in nice weather, and my local bagel shop that provides wireless internet with breakfast.
Click below for an explanation of how we do photos, comments, a view of the backend of the site, and the rest of Sarah’s day.

A Day in the Life of CBB: Bronwyn tells us about her day in the life as CBB Fashion/Gear/Reviews Editor
Bronwyn is our Fashion/Gear/Reviews Editor. She’s been writing for the site since October 2007, and full-time since mid-December.
Prior to working at the Celebrity Baby Blog I worked in an office that was located 5 miles from my home — I didn’t think it was possible to have a shorter commute. That was before I started working from home! I spend much of my day (and night) at my desk. It’s located in my living room which means I get to be involved with my family in the evenings, but also means I have a hard time walking away from "work."
My day really begins when my two-year-old wakes up, usually around 8AM. I’m on "Mom Duty" until I take her to daycare — we like to call it school. So my workday officially begins around 9AM.

A Day in the Life at CBB: Nancy tells us about her day in the life as a CBB fashion/gear writer
CBB Reviewer Nancy shares a typical day in the life. She and I met when our kids were 3 and 4 months old in a mother’s group.
I love reviewing products for CBB and often utilize my family for input. I post three reviews a week, but seem to work everyday (I also write the CBB Highlights Newsletter on Sundays and Mondays). I usually work at my dining room table.
In the morning, while my toddler is playing and the baby is hopefully content, I grab a few minutes here and there to read emails from my editor Bronwyn and contact vendors about testing products. Then I try to pick one product to work on for the day, whether it’s rain boots, clothing, a stroller, or diaper bag. When we go out for a couple of hours, the product comes with us and we test it out.
When I test strollers, my father-in-law helps me put them together. I want to see how it how it functions on trips to the park on foot and after a ride in the car to a store. After that, I always enlist my very tall father-in-law to take it out for a test drive to the park to get his perspective.
I work on writing the reviews during my toddler’s 2.5-3 hour afternoon nap and he’s asleep for the night. Since the baby has no regular naps or bedtime yet, she’s often strapped to me while I write.

Check out some of Nancy’s reviews (like Ciaran, she’s somewhat of a stroller fiend, and loves babywearing):

A Day in the Life of CBB: Missy tells us about her day in the life as a CBB news contributor
CBB Writer/Reviewer Missy shares a typical day in the life. She has been writing for the Celebrity Baby Blog since April 2007.
I wake up whenever my 4-year-old Owen appears at my bedside! Some mornings it’s 8 a.m., some (not so good) mornings it’s 5 a.m. We make our way downstairs and have breakfast while the baby, 17-month-old Sam, continues to snooze quite happily until 9 a.m. I fire up my laptop and begin my work day usually while Owen is eating, checking my email first and returning any emails from vendors whose products I’m in the process of reviewing. I also check for any urgent, celebrity baby news that broke overnight.
(Note: This is what Missy wishes she looked like in the morning, but it’s not her. It’s Cindy Crawford.)

A Day in the Life at CBB: Ciaran tells us about her day in the life as a CBB fashion/gear writer
Continuing in our series of A Day in the Life at CBB, Ciaran, our Senior Fashion/Gear Contributor, shares what she does.
This morning I got up at 6 am and checked my email while breastfeeding. I then made some changes to a post I was working on. As a mom of four without full-time help or a nanny, I have to get my writing done in short bursts, throughout the day. This means answering a query from my iPhone, while waiting for my daughters in a school parking lot, product testing at the beach while entertaining the troops (see picture at left!), and thinking about my next story in the grocery aisle. This morning it meant I was writing on my laptop in the bathroom while my three year old took a little time out for a leisurely poop. Yes, I am serious – I’ll spare you and my son the images though.

A Day in the Life of CBB: What Danielle does all day
One of the emails we received from a longtime CBB reader at our new questionsATcelebrity-babies.com email box asked if we could share what it’s like behind the scenes at CBB. I asked a few of our staff to share what a typical day is like, and I’ll share mine first.
A couple of weeks ago, a not-so-well meaning CBB reader asked what Idid for the site because I posted so rarely. Well, I’m actually prettybusy.
