Baby Bling with Ali Wing: Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz — Rocker-Baby Style
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
The baby rumors have been swirling for months now, and while nothing’s been confirmed, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson tied the knot on May 17, and a baby might not be far behind. Whether a baby comes soon or a little later, one thing we can be sure of is the role that tees, hoodies and jeans will play in any Simpson/Wentz collaboration. Especially with a dad like Pete, who was dubbed the “King of Hoodies” for his Clandestine Industries line of rocker-friendly clothing. So until Pete and Ashlee have time to design their own line of baby duds, here are our giggle picks for hot baby street wear.
Whether Baby Wentz is a girl or a boy, the fleece Tellem Hoodie is a must-have for cool evenings in Los Angeles (especially for the child of the King of Hoodies). With just a touch of tie-dye, it has a throwback style that’s still plenty modern, and just right for a relaxed rocker family.
For warmer days, the short-sleeved Wagadugu Striped Hoodie supplies hoodie style without the cold-weather imperative. Like scarves with tees or UGG boots with shorts, it reminds us that there’s no need to limit fashion to a season.
Next up, any rocker baby needs a great graphic tee. One of our favorites (hold the sassy sayings that seem to crop up on too many toddler styles) is the Glug Tiger Tee. Killer graphics and an easy sense of style make it one of our most popular tees, and it comes in sizes for both babies and toddlers.
Finally, a great pair of jeans is a fashion staple, even for the little ones. Just like any jeans loyalists, Ashlee and Pete will have to include at least one pair of fashion-forward jeans in their child’s starter set. We love (and think they will too) Levi’s distressed Faded Dark Jeans for toddlers. They’re the perfect bottom to go with all those hoodies and graphic tees, with just a splash of street-smart style.

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Celebrity Twins – Hollywood’s Bumper Crop
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
What is it with celebrities having twins? Sure, they’re busy, so maybehaving two at a time is just more efficient. Or maybe there’s justsomething in that Hollywood water. Jennifer Lopez just gave birth to a matchingboy and girl in February, joining the club with Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon (pictured left), Sean Combs, Marcia Cross, Elvis Costello/Diana Krall, Holly Hunter, Marcia Gay Harden, Patrick Dempsey, and Dennis Quaid, just to name a few. And now, not to be outdone, not one but two differentstars are rumored to be having twins: Angelina Jolie andLisa Marie Presley. Is this Hollywood’s hottest trend? I guess we’llsoon find out.
If these moms-to-be really are having double bundles of joy, Irecommend a great little book called Twins! Pregnancy, Birth, and theFirst Year of Life.It follows a similar format as What to Expect When You’re Expecting, but tells you what to expect when you’re expecting twice as much!
So what are some other hot picks for baby duos? A double stroller istop of the shopping list, and I have two favorites. First is the BobRevolution Duallie. It has one front wheel instead of two for extra maneuverability, and isa great choice for parents who need to stay fit, since it can be usedas a jogger. (It can also be used in the infant stage with the additionof a car seat adapter, though jogging’s not recommended until your baby is six months old.)
And for the smallest, lightest double stroller available, I love theMaclaren Twin Techno. It’s the only umbrella-style stroller (meaning it folds up like anumbrella) that you can use with comfort from newborn on. And, withdouble the load, it’s a light and easy as it gets.
A cute gift idea for any twin set is Kee-Ka’s Perfect Pair Gift Set.Packaged in a ready-to-mail parcel for easy gift giving, this set hastwo organic cotton onesies with a yellow pear and the words "perfectpair." They’re super cute, and gender neutral, too!
And finally, with twice the mouths to feed, the Medela’s new Freestyle Double Electric BreastPump can keep these busy moms on schedule. It’s powerful and gets thejob done in half the time—which is especially valuable for a mom whohas to produce twice as much milk!
Good luck to all these potential mothers of twins—and let the baby betting pools begin!

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Giada de Laurentiis — An Everyday Italian Mom
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
Giada de Laurentiis, hostess of "Everyday Italian" on the Food Network, is cooking up more than just Italian food: She had a baby girl! There’s no doubt baby Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson will be well fed (and if she’s anything like her mom, she’ll be able to eat whatever she wants). So what do we recommend for a foodie family like Giada’s?
It’s a fair assumption Giada will want to cook for her baby girlwhenever possible. And a food mill is a must-have for any mom who wantsto make her own fresh baby food out of fruits and vegetables. Giadasurely has a professional grade food processor already, but when she’straveling (or for any mom who wants a quick and easy solution) werecommend a portable Food Millthat will quickly puree food into a smooth consistency.
For preparing baby food ahead of time, I also love the Fresh Baby FoodKit.Giada probably doesn’t need the cooking tips, but the food storagetrays lets you make a batch of baby food in advance and freeze it inready-to-go single servings. It’s the perfect solution for a busy momtrying to juggle a hectic schedule and host her own TV show!
When she gets a little older, the littlest de Laurentiis can have funwhile she’s enjoying mom’s cuisine with a set of Puppet Utensilsfrom Trembini. The set includes a spoon, fork and knife—each with asmiling face—that can be worn like finger puppets. Trembini also makesa colorful and stylish five-piece setthat includes a plate, cup, and three non-puppet utensils. Both setsare fun and functional with an Italian flair, and they’re designed forthe way toddlers eat. And let’s not forget drinks! The Dombo TrainingCuphas a similarly playful spirit, with two great big side handles thatmake it super easy to transition out of sippy cups.
Since Giada and her baby will be spending lots of time together in thekitchen, a great high chair is a definite "must." My pick? Thesuper-stylish Fresco Chairby bloom. What’s great about this chair is that it can be used from dayone, with a reclining pod-like seat that an infant can sleep in. Itthen becomes a highchair and can even transition into use as a toddlerchair— all the while giving Giada’s baby girl a front-row seat to mom’sculinary creativity.

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Jessica Alba- One Hot Mama
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
Jessica Alba always stays in top shape, so why should things be any different when she’s expecting? According to Life & Style, she’s been doing extra rounds at the gym as of late to ensure a healthy and fit pregnancy.
We have no doubt this Hollywood A-lister will bounce back with bikini-worthy abs in no time. But for days when a little baby bonding sounds better than hitting the gym, we recommend these hot products that will let Jessica make the most of her mommy time.
For those days when Jessica wants to get out and enjoy some stroller time, she can track her progress with a Strollometer. With eight functions, it attaches to the stroller and tracks speed, trip distance, daily mileage — even the time and temperature.
When it’s time to hit the trails, she can ditch the stroller and take in the fresh air with the Baby Bjorn Synergy Carrier. Doctors encourage as much "carry" time as possible, but we think even Jessica’s personal trainers will agree that carrying her baby is a great ab workout, even when just going to get coffee.
As Jessica’s baby gets bigger, she can graduate to the Kelty Transit Carrier, the perfect carrier solution after one year of age. From farmer’s market outings to hitting the hiking trails, the Transit Carrier will turn her outdoor time with her 15-plus pound bundle of joy into a workout with weights!

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban – An Interesting Marriage of Unique Styles
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
What do you get when you mix a fair-haired Australian with a Nashville country crooner and throw in a dash of Hollywood style? No doubt Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban will create a baby like no other, and it’s anyone’s guess who the little one will take after.
So how do they start stocking the nursery? One infant must-have that’s a favorite of Australian parents in general are Muslin Swaddling Cloths. Designed to mimic the enclosed surroundings of the womb, swaddling provides comfort and security and helps keep your baby in the proper sleeping position. These versatile cloths can also do double duty as a nursing shield, burp cloth or sun shade—or to hide Nicole’s sure-to-be famous baby from the paparazzi!
But what about Keith? He’s "over the moon" about this pregnancy, and will surely want to be involved in a little nursery decorating. Our top pick for this proud papa? The Reese Crib. With a painted, shabby-chic style in classic country colors like red and navy, the Reese crib would feel right at home in any Nashville nursery.
But no Kidman-Urban collaboration would be complete without a little bit of Hollywood influence. The Green Edition Orbit Pram, a futuristic stroller designed in partnership with the Nature Conservancy, is a big hit with ecologically minded parents. And as anyone knows, eco is as big among Hollywood parents as the baby bump!

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Minnie Driver — Some Pampering for the New-Mom-To-Be
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
After several weeks of speculation, Minnie Driver announced on the Tonight Show that she’s expecting her first child. She told Jay that she loves being pregnant “more than anything else,” but that she has morning sickness morning, noon and night! For Minnie, or any other mom-to-be who’s feeling not-so-hot, here are some items for your shopping list to get you through the upcoming months.
For immediate relief of a tempestuous tummy, try Quease Ease Lip Balm from Erbaviva, who makes all kinds of wonderful pampering products for both mom and baby alike. It’s 100% certified organic, made from stomach-settling peppermint and ginger. Plus, it tastes good and keeps your lips moisturized, too!
Or, for longer-term relief, try the all-natural Morning Sickness Magic Capsules. This herbal dietary supplement from the makers of Baby’s Bliss GripeWater has ginger, Vitamin B5, red raspberry leaf, and folic acid. Designed for ongoing use, it’s getting as popular among expectant moms as Gripewater is for colicky babies!
In addition to morning sickness remedies, Minnie should stock up on mommy pampering during this blessed but nauseous time. For curling up on the couch, nothing will feel nicer than a CozyChic Throw from Barefoot Dreams. It’s made out of microfiber that’s deliciously cuddly, and it’s guaranteed to make any mom feel at least a little bit better. I also love Maclaren Beginning for their soothing aromatherapy products. Their travel kit includes treats for both mom and baby, including massage oil, leg lotion and face mist for mom, and dusting powder, room mist, and changing balm for the little one.
There. Now don’t you feel better already?

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Cate Blanchett – Working That Special Glow
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
If you caught the Academy Awards, you saw a very pregnant (with her third child!) Cate Blanchett. Her dress was stunning, and her jewelry was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. But the most beautiful thing about her was her glow. Now, there’s no denying that women always look more radiant when they’re expecting. And a quick glance at any photo of Cate shows that she has an almost ethereal quality in any photo, even when she’s not "with child." So what does a natural beauty like Cate add to her beauty regime when she’s expecting?
The Australian actress might want to start with Erbaviva Mommy-To-Be Milk Bath. It combines the skin-soothing properties of milk with essential oils of lavender, lemon and sandalwood to create a bath-time haven for any new mom. Plus, it refreshes and moisturizes skin, relieving tummy dryness and soothing the spirits. If Cate hasn’t tried this, we especially recommend it for her third pregnancy!
Mama Mio prenatal spa line has an almost cult-like following in England. And since Cate’s played a lot of British roles, she just may be a fan. We especially love their Mama Mio Tummy Rub, a top pick among pregnant Brits.
Another great product from overseas is the French prenatal bath and skincare line Mustela. This classic brand has been around for over fifty years and is used by more pregnant women in the world than any other product line. It’s a classic, and so is Cate!
And finally, there’s Maclaren New Beginnings. These aromatherapy goodies were created to meet both the physical and emotional needs of new mothers, with natural and organic ingredients to restore harmony. Featuring massage oils, leg lotions and face mists, we’re guessing New Beginnings could be part of Cate’s secret recipe!

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Christina Aguilera – Giving Max the World
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
From the looks of baby Max’s nursery (shown last month in People magazine), Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman really are living up to their stated goal of giving their son everything—and I do mean everything. In true pop culture fashion, Max’s baby world is a blend of kid-robot meets modern meets super sweet, with a little bit of classic thrown in for good measure. From his custom-made mural to an oversized prop from one of Mom’s tours—a scary-looking moon that dominates the room—Max’s nursery is over the top!
Let’s start with that round StarLight Baby Crib. Forget modern or pop: this crib is as far out on the sweet spectrum as baby cribs go. With moons and stars on the crib posts, it’s part bed and part fantasy land. (And in Max’s case, it’s custom painted to match his custom mural.)
Max’s mom and dad are gliding in style with an orange Luca Glider (giggle stocks it in charcoal and brown, and can special order it in orange)It’s sleek, it’s modern, and it’s a sophisticated take on the traditional mommy must-have. Perfect for those late-night lullabies from Max’s famous rock mommy!
Front and center in Max’s nursery photo album is Paddington Bear, suggesting that there’s still room for classic even in this cutting edge household. But just to make sure things don’t get too cute, his Ugly Dolls add a sweetly subversive touch. Cool parents love these stuffed playthings just as much as their kids do. They epitomize the era of pop-culture cool and seem a natural fit for Max’s toy box.

Baby Bling with giggle’s Ali Wing: Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott – Making Room for No 2!
by Ali Wing, founder, giggle
With an 11-month-old at home and a confirmed second trimester pregnancy, Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are upping the stakes! Whether or not baby Liam McDermott is ready for a little brother or sister, it’s time for some big boy nursery upgrades in the Spelling/McDermott household. Here are my top picks for easing the transition to baby number two:
As cute as their single stroller may be, it’s time to be ready to roll with two. My pick for the perfect double stroller is hands-down the Phil &Teds Sport Buggy. The only two-kid stroller that operates on the size of a single stroller frame, it’s a delightful alternative to the double-wide. And lucky for Tori and Dean, the new, improved “luxury” version is due out this spring.
It’s always exciting when your baby is big enough to graduateto a toddler chair and join you at the table. And Tori and Dean willhave extra motivation to move Liam up, since two is definitely a crowdwhen it comes to bulky highchairs. My favorite is Stokke’s Tripp Trapp Chair. It blends well with most decors, and can be used all the way into your child’s teens. What a great investment!
Eventually, baby Liam is going to ask to hold his new brother or sister. The goodnews is that now he can do it in style and look just like Daddy in nurseryworks’ mini Sleepytime Rocker and Ottoman. This is the pint-sized version of the full-sized rocker that, accordingto pictures from their nursery, they already own and love. With asecond baby on the way, they’ll definitely get their money’s worth outof this stylish piece of furniture!
With a family growing thisfast, there could easily be a bunk bed in the Spelling-McDermott clan’sfuture. And while it may be a couple of years away, our pick is thepractical and contemporary nurseryworks Duet Bunk Bed which will coordinate withLiam’s nurseryworks crib, making the transition from baby to big boybed effortless when the time comes.
Congratulations to Tori and Dean—and to anyone else expecting their second or third bundle of joy!
