Walking across the stage in a tight black dress, Halle Berry quickly and definitely put the kibosh on persistent pregnancy rumors during a Thursday appearance on The Jay Leno Show. “I was getting a complex,” the 43-year-old actress admits. “I was like, ‘I’ve got to stop with the burgers or something!’”

Having “put to bed” any and all whispers about a baby-on-the-way, Halle turned to the “fantastic” baby she already has — 18-month-old Nahla Ariela.

She proceeded to tell a “funny” new mom story that only a handful of mothers in the world could possibly relate to. Having graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar this spring, Halle was at the grocery store with Nahla when her daughter recognized mom’s image on the magazine.

“I’ve got on my sunglasses and I’m in the market. I’m putting all my groceries on the belt, and she’s over my shoulder and I hear her say ‘Mama, Mama,’” Halle recalls. “I knew, ‘Ooh, she saw that cover, that’s cute.’”

A shopper in line behind them then began to coo alongside Nahla, before correcting baby girl. “I heard the woman say, ‘Oh no honey, that’s not your mama, that’s Halle Berry,’” Halle explained. “And I’m like, okay, that’s kind of funny.” Nahla, however, refused to back down on what she already knew to be true!

“Nahla says, ‘Mama! Mama!’ And the lady gets, like, indignant about it, [and said], ‘No, honey, that’s not your mama. That’s Halle Berry.’ And I couldn’t take it any longer so I whipped off my glasses and turned around and I was like, ‘No, I am her mother and I am Halle Berry and she knows what she’s talking about!’ It was one of those great mom moments.”

Nahla is Halle’s daughter with partner Gabriel Aubry.

Fans of Ellen DeGeneres, 51, and Portia de Rossi who are breathlessly awaiting a pregnancy announcement can exhale! In a new interview with the LA Times, Portia muses that although motherhood would be “amazing and exciting and wonderful,” it is nonetheless a state of being she “definitely” won’t be experiencing “in the near future.”

“It isn’t really something that’s on the immediate horizon for us.”

The couple — married in August 2008 – were recently the subject of baby whispers after reports surfaced that Portia, 36, was undergoing IVF. “How [the] rumor started, I really have no idea,” she says. And while the stories were ultimately untrue, they weren’t exactly unwelcome. “It’s great that Ellen and I are a gay couple and people are open-minded enough to talk about us having a family,” Portia explains.

“I feel like we kind of get all the same stuff that any heterosexual couple would get in the public eye. And that is great, that is wonderful — including the baby bump.”

In denying that there is a baby-on-the-way, Portia adds that she’s hoping to avoid the embarrassing scenario all actresses dread. ”I just don’t want those horrible pictures in magazines where they circle your stomach and point and go ‘baby bump,’” she admits.

Portia’s new series Better Off Ted debuts Wednesday on ABC at 8:30 p.m.

To those Internet reports claiming M.I.A. named her 3-week-old boy Ickitt, the rapper responds: Ick! In a humorous message on her MySpace Celebrity Blog, the “Paper Planes” songstress shot down the rumors while poking fun at a few of the more unique names bestowed upon certain celebrity kids.

“MY BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH, ” she writes. “HES A BABY, HE DONT NEED PRESS!”

Explaining that she doesn’t consider her son’s name to be newsworthy information, M.I.A., 31, says she’ll be back with something for her fans soon. “TILL THEN GO PICK ON APPLE, SATCHEL AND MOON UNIT,” she suggests.

Her son, born February 11th, is the first child for M.I.A., whose given name is Mathangi Arulpragasam, and her musician fiancé, Benjamin Bronfman.

Memorably performing while pregnant at the Grammys last month, M.I.A. was also nominated for an Oscar for her song “O Saya,” from Best Picture Slumdog Millionaire.

If there was ever a downside to being Kate Moss, it might be this! Following weeks of speculation by the British tabloid media the 35-year-old supermodel — famous for her waifish figure — has gone on record to deny that she’s pregnant with her second child. Instead, Kate tells New York magazine, she merely gained some weight!

Proudly proclaiming herself “a woman” because she’s finally in need of a bra, Kate adds that even her own inner circle has wondered whether or not she was expecting a baby.

“It’s so awful, even my friends are phoning me up and saying ‘Are you pregnant?’ And I’m like, ‘No! I just put on a couple of pounds, and they went in the right place.’”

Kate is already mom to Lila Grace, 6, her daughter with ex-partner Jefferson Hack.

Update: Pete and Ashlee have officially confirmed on his site that they are indeed expecting their first child.

Whilemany have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after thefirst trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our firstchild.  This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we areexcited to share the happy news and start our family.

Update: A press release has been sent out that denies all rumors that the couple is expecting a baby together and insists that a romantic relationship between the two does not exist.

It has been published in various publications that Argentine actress Dolores Fonzi and Gael Garcia Bernal are expecting a baby, which is completely false, since they are only friends who have a business relationship as well.

Originally posted May 2nd: People en Espanol is reporting that Mexican actor and director Gael Garcia Bernal, 29, and his on-again-off-again girlfriend for the past few years, Argentine actress Dolores Fonzi, 29 are expecting their first child together.  According to sources, the two, who first met while filming Vidas Privadas, hadn’t seen each other in awhile, but were recently spotted together again in New York City and in Mexico.

Their reps have yet to confirm or comment on a possible pregnancy.

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, 39, has quashed the rumors about her plans to start a family by adopting an aboriginal baby.

I heard that rumor too. I think it came from the ‘News Of The World.’ No, [it's not true]. There’s so much noise and waffle about me and my future family.

She does, however, admit to wanting children in the future.

I would love to [start a family] someday. We’ll see if and how that might happen.

Update: Adrianne has denied the pregnancy with a blog response.  She states that she has gained some weight due to the fact that she has quit smoking.  Adrianne also wrote,

I am not pregnant right now, but I can honestly tell you that I don’t think I would mind if I found out I was. At some point in the near future … we will most likely start deliberately trying.

Originally posted at 7:14 pm: If you are a fan of the reality television show My Fair Brady, you know that stars Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight, 50, are ready to start a family together.  When the finale of their show aired earlier this month, the 25-year-old model was shown throwing her birth control pills into the ocean while her husband looked on. 

And it appears as if Adrianne could possibly already be pregnant.  She showed up at Tori Spelling’s book launch for sTori Telling, and looked suspiciously pregnant. However, it may have just been the loose dress and the placement of the scarf.

Originally posted 12 pm: Model and Baby Phat creator Kimora Lee Simmons, 32, and actor Djimon Hounsou, 43, are reportedly expecting their first child together, if Page Six’s sources are to be believed. The Post tried to get a confirmation or denial of the report, but Kimora’s rep has been unable to reach her for the past five days.

Kimora is already mom to two daughters, Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 5 ½, with ex-husband Russell Simmons.

A blind item posted on an Internet website this week which suggested that a cast member of The Hills and / or Laguna Beach was pregnant sent fans of the shows into a frenzy.  Speculation ran rampant that the mom-to-be was none other than Lauren Conrad, but her rep denied the rumor yesterday, telling OK! that,

The only person pregnant in Lauren Conrad’s life is her publicist and you can quote me on that.

Lauren, 22, can next be seen in the March 24 premiere of The Hills’ 3rd season on MTV.
