"My baby self weaned despite me trying to keep up the nursing! I find it so refreshing to hear Gwen talk about how hard she works to lose weight and keep herself in top shape. She looks great and has a beautiful family."

Baby Bunching: Must-Haves for Two-Under-Two Moms

Bebeyh/Meet The Famous

Two-under-two. The words alone are enough to strike fear in the hearts of women everywhere.

But ask Naomi Watts, Tori Spelling, Brooke Burke or any other mom who has navigated this tough terrain and she’ll often tell you that having back-to-back babies is a rewarding — albeit exhausting — experience.

Even better news? It doesn’t have to be so hard.

Whether it’s a toy that keeps both kids occupied or a stroller that expands with your growing family, there are lots of splurge-worthy products that make life easier and safer for all involved.

Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream: Soothing and Safe

You won’t need a lot of Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream ($10/1 oz. tub) to protect or soothe raw breastfeeding nipples.  I ruined my expensive nursing bras with a less expensive and stickier nipple cream that felt like and acted like glue!

Made from 100% organic and natural ingredients including marshmallow root, calendula, olive oil, shea butter and beeswax, it doesn’t contain lanolin which is derived from sheeps’ wool like many other salves. However, it does contain beeswax so it’s not vegan.

It is totally safe for the nursing baby to ingest and actually smells quite nice too. I have very sensitive and dry skin and could not have survived nursing for the first few months without this salve.

It also makes a nice gift for a first-time mom who plans on nursing. And you can use it as a diaper cream too!

Medela Hydro Gel Pads: Babies Aren’t The Only Ones Who Need Soothing

I suffered (and I mean suffered) from thrush, an infection breastfeeding mothers often experience, with both my babies.

It is absolutely no fun, but I found something that really helps alleviate the pain.

Medela’s Tender Care Hydro Gel pads ($13/4-pack) are sterile, jelly-like pads that soothe and cool the skin.

They may be just the thing a new mom needs to keep breastfeeding on track.

Lansinoh Breast Pumps: Excellent Pumps For a Great Price

As a mother of two sons (2 ½ years old and 4 months old) who strongly believes in the benefits of nursing, it didn’t take long until I discovered the Lansinoh product line.

The Virginia-based company was founded 20 years ago by a breastfeeding mom and to this day focuses on nursing equipment.

No wonder I was excited to use a Lansinoh breast pump when I had my second baby.

With the first I had rented and borrowed Medela pumps and although they worked well, I wasn’t looking forward to pumping.

While it is incredibly useful if you need baby-free time with as little guilt and worries as possible, it’s not exactly a nice experience.

It also doesn’t help when the electric pump looks and sounds like a generator or when cleaning all the parts of the manual pump takes almost as long as it does going to the movies.

The Essential Breastfeeding Log: A Feedings Tracker and Baby-Care Organizer for Nursing Moms

When my baby girl was first born I tracked every single feeding and poop in a little composition notebook for a good five weeks.

Something about being able to keep track of whatever entered or exited her body made me feel a little more in control.

Such is the premise of a new book, The Essential Breastfeeding Log, by Suzanne Schlosberg and Sarah Bowen Shea ($15).

Medela Comfort Bra: All New Moms Need A Little Support

Medela Comfort Bra

Medela’s Comfort Bra ($30) is perfect for pregnant or nursing moms who need a soft bra for sleeping. The racerback style has wide shoulder straps that don’t dig in, comes in black, white and nude, and has an easy cup release for nursing.

This isn’t a very supportive bra but it’s very comfy for lounging around. It even holds bra pads in place under your PJs! I have bought several Comfort Bras and I swear by this style.
