Leaving the hospital

Spanish bullfighter Enrique Ponce, 36, and his wife, jewelry designer Paloma Cuevas, took their newborn daughter, Paloma, home from the hospital this afternoon in Spain.  Before getting into their car, the couple and little Paloma stopped for some pictures and to answer some questions from the press standing outside.  Paloma was visibly excited to be leaving the hospital after a week stay and admitted that the arrival of her daughter was a great gift for upcoming Mother’s Day.

I find myself doing very well, phenomenal, and very well recovered.  And my girl is the best present for Mother’s Day.

Enrique, who recently called into the radio show, La Tarde de Ramon Garcia, to discuss his new role as father, told the press that she is a "very good" baby and "never cries" and said that little Paloma already has her mom’s features.

Her nose is exactly like her mother’s.

Paloma was quick to reply that the expression in her eyes however, is exactly like her father’s!

Tina Hobley, 35, and her husband Oliver Wheeler smiled happily for waiting photographers as they left the Portland Hospital in London with their 3-day-old daughter Olivia Kitty Alice on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Oliver also corrected recent reports claiming baby Olivia was born on Saturday, April 19th. He said,

Olivia Kitty Alice was born on Friday evening.

Olivia joins big sister Isabella, 9, Tina’s daughter with ex-husband Steve Wallington.

Princess Mathilde of Belgium, accompanied by her husband, Prince Philippe, and their five-day-old daughter, Princess Eléonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie, left the hospital this afternoon.  Before leaving, the couple announced that both mom and baby were doing excellent and generously thanked the hospital staff for all their care that they received during their stay. Princess Mathilde and Prince Philippe also are parents to daughter Princess Elisabeth, 6, and sons Prince Gabriel, 4 ½, and Prince Emmanuel, 2 ½.

Actress Cate Blanchett, 38, headed home from the hospital today after giving birth to her third son Ignatius ‘Iggy’ Martin on Sunday.  Mom and baby were picked up by dad Andrew Upton, 41, and brothers Dashiell John, 6, and Roman Robert, who turns 4 on April 23rd.

When Cate and Ignatius returned to their Hunters Hill home, Dashiell and Roman had stuck a sign on the window reading "Welcome home Mum and Iggy."

• I was wheeled to the door of the hospital with Brady in my arms.
• The nurse made sure he was secure in his car seat before we left.
• The baby blanket was handmade by my mom for Brady.
• I love my flip flops and wasn’t in any shape to bend over and put on shoes that day!
• The thing I have in my hands is a picture mat that I had all our visitors sign for Brady and the space where the picture is supposed to be just happens to be framing my ROOTS logo on my sweatpants … funny! I did the same thing for Mason with the picture mat and it hangs in his room to remind us of all the friends and family that came to meet him when he was born.

Originally posted March 17th: Melissa Joan Hart was photographed as she was released from the hospital with new son Braydon ‘Brady’ Hart Wilkerson on Friday. Melissa gave birth on Wednesday, left a note for CBB readers that night, and blogged a bit about the experience on Sunday.

Update: The Daily Mail has photos of Sara posing for photos with Isaac as she leaves the hospital on Wednesday.

Originally posted March 11th: BBC Radio 1 DJ and presenter Sara Cox, 33, and her boyfriend Ben Cyzer have welcomed their first child together. Son Isaac Cyzer was born on Monday the 10th in London, weighing in at 7 lbs, 12 oz. He joins big sister Lola Anne, 3 ½, Sara’s daughter with estranged husband DJ Jon Carter.

The pregnancy was announced in September, with Sara taking her maternity leave last month.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 42, left her local hospital today with her and husband Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, 43, and their new son. The couple’s second child, James Alexander Philip Theo Mountbatten-Windsor, was born Monday, December 17th via C-section. He will go by the title Viscount Severn. The couple is already parents to daughter Lady Louise Windsor, 4.

Figure skaters Steven Cousins, 35, and Elena Berezhnaya, 30, welcomed their first child, son Trysten, on Saturday, October 6th in London, England.  He weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces.

Lola Rosalind Parker Bowles, the first grandchild of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 60, made her first public appearance on Wednesday afternoon. Tom Parker Bowles, 32, and his wife Sara Buys took their daughter home who slept soundly through her first photo-shoot. Lola was born on October 9. Camilla’s daughter Laura Lopes, 28, is due with her first child in January.
