Unusual names

General Hospital’s Ingo Rademacher, 37, is a new dad after his fiancée Ehiku gave birth to son Peanut Kai Rademacher on Friday, July 11th.  The couple’s first child weighed 7 lbs, 6 oz. and was 20 ½ inches long.  A spokesperson for the show stated that "dad, mom and baby are all great."  They also shared that,

The cast and crew of General Hospital are very excited for Ingo, Ehiku and the entire Rademacher family. We wish them all the best during this important milestone.

The pregnancy was announced in January.

Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado welcomed her first child, daughter Dinorah, on Wednesday, June 25th in Miami, Florida.  Baby Dinorah’s father is a 48-year-old Mexican businessman who’s identity has never been revealed.  No further details have been released.

Following months of swirling rumors, the pregnancy was confirmed in January with Alicia, 31, revealing the sex of the baby.  Alicia later discussed her pregnancy in depth with People en Espanol, saying pregnancy had made her feel "complete."  In April, we got a peek at Alicia’s belly as she showed off her tummy on a special episode of mothers-to-be on El Show de Cristina.

Update: The baby was actually born on Tuesday, April 29th. His name has not been released yet, but he is 7 lbs, 9 oz and 21.3 inches long.

Originally posted 11:30 am: Russian tennis player Anastasia Myskina, 26, is reported to have given birth Monday, April 28th, to a baby boy, who she has reportedly named Zhenya.  Anastasia, who announced she was expecting in December, has yet to confirm the birth and no other details have been released.

Spanish Flamenco dancer and choreographer Rafael ‘Rafa’ Amargo, 33, and his wife, Yolanda, introduced their second son, Dante Horoshi Dali, born on March 10th via cesarean, in the newest issue of Hola!  Also at the photo shoot was their 3-year-old son, Leon Bidanshi Lorca.

Australian journalist, author, and media personality Mia Freedman, 34, is already a mother-of-two, with another on the way. Here the former editor-in-chief of Cosmo, Cleo and Dolly speaks to us exclusively about motherhood. With her next baby — they don’t yet know the sex — due in August, Mia tells us about her children, son Luca, 10, and daughter Coco, 2, getting ready for the new addition, baby names and her career.

Actress Terri J. Vaughn, 38, and her husband, Karon Riley of the AFL, welcomed their first child together, Kal’El Joseph Riley, at 6:05 pm on Monday, April 21st in Los Angeles, CA. He was about 2 ½ weeks early and weighed in at 7 lbs, 6 oz, and 19.5 inches long. Terri was in labor for six hours. She shared,

I think the name is very fitting for him — he’s strong, cool and mellow,just perfect. I could tell evenwhen I was carrying him inside me because he made me feel likeSuperwoman!

Once a mom, always a mom, but my sons each bringdifferent spirits to my life. Daylen softened my heart and spirit whileKal’El strengthened my heart and soul. God knows what He’s doing — I needthem both. I just hope that Kal’El fulfills his God-given purpose,which will make the world a better place

Karon added,

Terri was amazing during the delivery — and Kal’El looks just like his daddy.

Kal’El joins big brother Daylen Ali Carolina, 6 ½, from Terri’s previous marriage, who was quite excited to meet the new arrival. Terri laughed,

He couldn’t keep his hands off of him. I keep him loaded up with hand sanitizer!

The pregnancy and sex of the baby were announced in January, the same month the couple eloped. Terri’s due date had been May 2nd.

The Price is Right’s beauty Gwendolyn Osborne, 30, and her husband, former NBA star Kenny “the Jet” Smith, 43, welcomed son Malloy Adrian Smith on Wednesday, March 26th.  He weighed 9 lbs, 3 oz and was 22 ¾ inches long.  Gwendolyn released in a statement,

I would just like to thank CBS and The Price Is Right forall of their amazing support and to the fans that have been so positive and wonderful throughout my pregnancy.

The couple have been married since September of 2006.

Actress Cate Blanchett, 38, and husband Andrew Upton, 41, have welcomed their third son. Ignatius Martin Upton was born on Sunday, April 13th in Sydney, Australia. The Australian media reported a weight of 7 lbs, 9 oz, while Us Weekly says 8 lbs, 6 oz.

Ignatius joins big brothers Dashiell John, 6, and Roman Robert, who turns 4 on April 23rd. A spokesperson said,

All are well and very happy.

Cate confirmed the pregnancy, after much speculation, in November. In February, she revealed the sex of the baby in a comment made at the Oscars. We are unsure what her due date was, but as of April 11th, Cate had shared that she was overdue.

Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce, 30, and his fiancée Julie Landrum are new parents after welcoming a daughter on Friday evening. Julie gave birth to Prianna Lee Pierce at 5:40 pm on April 4th in Boston, MA. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 14 oz.

Former Roswell star Brendan Fehr, 30, is a first time dad after his wife Jen gave birth to James Olivia Fehr on Wednesday, March 26th at 12:04 am.  She weighed 9 lbs, 7 oz and was 21 inches long.  The couple kept the sex a delivery surprise. Brendan, who has a recurring role on CSI: Miami, talked about his new daughter on his blog, stating, 

I’m just taking it all in and yeah whatever, it’s not your kid so you might not care (that’s how I am about other people’s kids so don’t feel bad) but I’m loving just watching the little monkey and won’t bore you since I think new parents have that tendency but man … just blessed, really blessed. Beautiful wife, beautiful child and a God who claims us all as His children. Couldn’t be happier.
