The Boom Boom Room Vendor Round Up – Part 5
The demand for eco-friendly baby gear was high at last week’s Boom Boom Room, and Bebe au Lait is heeding the call. It recently unveiled its new Simple organic cotton nursing cover-ups ($50) on Earth Day, and word spread fast. Jessica Alba — who has been vocal about her desire to create a green (figuratively, at least!) nursery for the daughter she’s expecting with fiancé Cash Warren — was given a Simple cover-up in Chocolat at her recent baby shower. After hearing how well received the gift was, Bebe au Lait recently sent the 27-year-old actress a companion Simple cover-up in Buttercup (shown at left). So what’s next for the northern California-based company? In late June, be on the lookout for gift sets which feature one of Bebe au Lait’s award-winning cover-ups paired with three coordinating terrycloth burpies. Quite simply, the perfect new baby gift for a nursing mama.
BornFree was also on hand (read our review here), sharing its brand new line of glass baby bottles ($28 for three 9-oz bottles) with the celebrities in attendance. Created by three dads with eight children between them (and one on the way!), BornFree makes baby feeding products and accessories — including bottles, cups and nipples — that are not only Bisphenol A (BPA)-free, but also Phthalates and PVC-free. But these bottles, available in both glass and plastic form, are not only the ultimate in bottle-feeding safety: They also employ cutting-edge venting technology designed to reduce the symptoms of colic and occurrence of ear infections. So it’s no wonder new first-time parents like Nicole Richie and Joel Madden and Naomi Watts and Liev Shreiber have turned to BornFree in feeding their babies — Harlow Winter Kate, 4 1/2-months, and Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 10-months on Sunday, respectively. The company is poised to move beyond the bottle/cup market in the near future, and will soon introduce new products including pacifiers, eating utensils for children, food containers and more.

The Boom Boom Room Vendor Round up – Part 3
Hot celebrity moms each have their own styles and fashion tastes, but what seems to be a consistent favorite as of late — if not at times a ‘must-have’ — for them all is a trip down the eco-friendly, organic, and natural path. At the Boom Boom Room, there was no exception! Among the various vendors, many of the biggest hits with actress Constance Zimmer, Molly Shannon, and others were companies who went that little extra green mile. From making their items both with chemical-free ingredients and quality guarantees, to insuring their products were as earth-loving and healthy as possible, those with an eco-conscious edge caught celebrity’s attention.
Take for example, A Natural Home. Run by two women who are looking to help people embrace the organic, natural way of living, the company focuses on simple yet sturdy and well-built furniture fit for your home. Their products — built by the Amish — promise to last for your lifetime and your kid’s lifetime, and your kid’s kid’s lifetime, and … well, you get the idea. You can find any type of house furniture you’re looking for — whether it’s a table, a couch or even a hypoallergenic bed for man’s best friend!
However, their focus at the Boom Boom Room were the future generations: the children! With a large assortment of wooden toys (pictured) — promised to be 100% sustainable wood and made with
absolutely no chemicals — my son enjoyed some of their great samples and especially loved their wooden sheep made with real organic wool! Another great toy that looks especially fun is their Play Kitchen ($215) — a handcrafted piece that is made uniquely each and every time with the promise of (you guessed it!) 100% natural and toxin-free solid wood. And if you’re looking to ‘go-green’ with your baby’s nursery or your toddler’s bedroom, A Natural Home also has beautiful bassinets (pictured) and toddler beds made out solid oak, maple, and cherry. If all this wood sounds like a strain on the planet, no worries. All wood used in the furniture and toys comes from protected forests, so trees will never be scarce.

The Boom Boom Room Vendor Roundup – Part 2
Moms are always superstars in the eyes of their children, it’s true. But in the days and weeks after they deliver, it’s nice to be treated like a superstar, too. For all the joy it brings, new motherhood can be tough — from engorged breasts to sleep deprivation to the shocking realization that your body is (likely) forever changed, it can throw even the sanest of us for a loop. At last week’s Boom Boom Room, however, it became clear that help is definitely on the horizon. Many vendors exhibited products that are geared towards mama care, and we’ve chosen to highlight a few of our favorites below.
Let’s start at the beginning — delivery day! No need to worry about exposing your ‘assets’ while pacing the halls of labor & delivery, because dearjohnnies has you — quite literally — covered. Created by founder (and mom of 3!) Rachel Zinny (shown at left with
Summer Sanders), we’ve reviewed this Wellesley, Mass.-based company before, and were thrilled to see that Rachel has kept up the good work since we caught up with her last. dearjohnnies unveiled its new Gramercy line of hospital gowns at the Boom Boom Room, and the new prints — including the Lola, the Ava and the Pia (each $72; Ava shown at right) — are quite simply adorable. They’ll be available online July 1, but if you simply can’t wait you can order one now by calling dearjohnnies at 617-320-9884. It’s an easy way to feel extra special on what will no doubt be the most special day of your life — the day you become a mom! It’s no wonder Jennifer Garner, Tori Spelling and Mariska Hargitay are fans.
Exclusive for CBB readers: Save 20% off your order at dearjohnnies now through June 30. Discount cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts and will be applied as a refund after original transaction has been processed. Readers must put code CBB20 in special instruction box upon checkout to receive the discount.

The Boom Boom Room Vendor Roundup – Part 1
The Boom Boom Room, hosted by Jayneoni Moore in NYC, was wall-to-wall packed with vendors, booths, and people. But like any other event, there were a few vendors who — long after you had passed them by — you just couldn’t stop thinking about. Before you knew it, you found yourself making the rounds again just to get a second peek! If you’re thinking you missed out, don’t worry. Over the next week Missy and I will be bringing you information on products that really stood out to us at the event, from new fashion lines exclusively for boys and girls to new styles of baby gear, and much, much more!
How many times have you looked in your diaper bag and realized you forgot the baby’s bib? Or you can’t find that darn pacifier for the life of you? April Klein, mother of two, hopes she can help with her invention of Bébe Belay ($9) — a baby
accessory that can be used as an instant bib, a connector clip, and a pacifier and toy holder! The ribbon is equipped with specially designed clips on either end that are made to pull free with a force of two pounds or greater, in order to avoid strangulation and baby-pinching. Using Bébe Belay is as easy as stringing the pacifier through the ribbon and clipping it to the tab, or clipping both ends to a napkin for an instant bib. You can even clip two slippers together so they will never get lost again!
A hit at the Boom Boom Room, Constance Zimmer (pictured at right with April) stopped by the Bébe Belay booth and chatted with April about all the great uses of Bébe Belay. She was then was gifted a few Bébe Belays of her choice to use with her daughter, Colette Zoe, 4-months.

Update: Boom Boom Room Contest: Win a Bumble Bag!
Update: The winners are:
- Diaper Bag: Brooke from Leroy, IL, who said, "The thing I find mostly important in a diaper bag is somehow blendingfashion with function and being able to have room for the babies’ stuffas well as my cell phone, lip gloss and car keys!"
- Snack Bags: Jennifer from who said, "The most important feature in my diaper bags is longevity, I want something that won’t fall apart easily."
A good diaper bag is hard to find, believe us we know. They’re either too small, don’t have enough pockets or are really TOO big. There isn’t much worse then digging for keys in a roomy bag with a toddler on your hip and the rain starting to kick in… seriously, been there done that!
Then there was the Bumble Bags Natalie Travel Bag! This bag does it all, with a million features and pockets that any mom will love. Check out the diagram (right) to see all the cool items this bag packs in.
Bumble Bags recently hit the Boom Boom Room Gifting Suites and they had a huge response from the celebrities there. Jason Priestley, with his wife Naomi and daughter Ava Priestley in tow, commented that he wanted his bag to match his blue eyes. Fellow 90210 alum, Tori Spelling said that she loved the insulated pockets for baby Liam McDermott. Jennifer Cura had spent her time making baby quilts, teddy bears and blankets for friends who were having babies. Then the requests came in from people wanting to buy her stuff. So she set up shop, creating The Patchwork Bear.
We’re in love with the concept behind her line. If you’ve ever tried to store away baby clothes then you know the battle well, you are able to ditch the completely soiled ones, but you find it hard to detach yourself from others — This one he/she wore when he/she first smiled … I loved this outfit on him/her … The list of excuses to save the clothes goes on and you end up with a pile to keep that’s larger then the pile to toss. The Patchwork Bear lets you re-purpose those old baby clothes and without your significant other needing to carve another hole out in the attic for them.
The Patchwork Bear launched the new “Keepsake Collection” at thecelebrity-packed, Boom Boom Room Wonderland event. Transform your baby’s outgrown clothes into aninstant keepsake with a Baby Clothes Bear or Baby Clothes Quilt! ToriSpelling loved the idea of making a keepsake bear out of her littleboy, Liam’s clothes and Denise Richards would like a memory bear madefrom her mother’s clothes. Visit her site to see the whole collection, including Wedding Dress Quilts, photo memory pillow and autographquilts.
You can get the same swag that that celebs received at the Boom Boom Room Wonderland earlier this month. Click Continue Reading for the details and to see photos of The Patchwork Bear at the Boom Boom Room Event.

Featured Review: Sok-O toys: Where individuality is cherished
I remember as a child watching with awe the first time I saw my mom turn a sock into a puppet. It became a rainy day ritual for my older sister and I, when we could think of nothing else to do, to present our mom with a sock, some buttons and yarn — and then sit back to watch her work her magic. Having a toy that was handmade just for me felt like a total luxury, even if it consisted almost entirely of a sock. My own two little boys haven’t enjoyed that feeling very much or very often for I’m not nearly as handy with a needle and thread as my own mother was. But thanks to Sok-O I don’t need to be!
A group of three Los Angeles-based designers and one designer located in Taiwan, Sok-O makes fun and funky dolls that are sure to shake up your child’s collection of stuffed animals in a big, bold way.
A huge hit at the recent Boom Boom Room gifting suite, celebrity parents like Kim Porter (pictured left, with twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, 13-months) Ming Na, Denise Richards and Scott Baio snatched up these adorable dolls made with a pair of socks or, in some cases, one individual sock. Because they are handmade, no two are identical, and each comes complete with its own birth certificate!
