What Happened When Julie Bowen’s Water Broke
Julie Bowen literally worked until the last minute on Boston Legal when she went into labor. Co-star William Shatner recounts the hectic atmosphere on set Tuesday night.Her little muscles contracted until the scene was over, and ‘Bang!’ Her water broke. I followed the trail for as long as I could and then I lost it.
Julie gave birth to her first child, son Oliver McLanahan, with husband Scott Phillips later that night.

Actress Julie Bowen Is a New Mama!
Update: Oliver McLanahan Phillips arrived at 10:15 pm last evening, weighing in at 6 lbs., 15 oz, and 19 inches long.
Originally posted April 10th: Boston Legal and former Ed star Julie Bowen’s water broke on set this afternoon, so we look forward to baby news in the morning!
Julie and her husband Scott Phillips had not found out the sex of the baby before the delivery, so it’s all a surprise…stay tuned!

Boston Legal and former Ed actress Julie Bowen, 37, poses at an event held on March 16th. She and husband Scott expect their first child in April. They aren’t finding out the sex until the delivery, and Julie has vowed to bring the baby to Boston Legal with her and "shock" castmates by nursing on set – although we certainly don’t find anything shocking about that – just normal!
