"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

How Nancy O’Dell dropped her baby weight

Tags: News, Quotes
NancyandashbyWhen it came time for Nancy O’Dell to lose her pregnancy weight, the Access Hollywood anchor asked her close friend Lisa Rinna for her personal trainer, Jeff DePeron, who has helped Nancy almost get back to her pre-pregnancy weight in just two months. The 41-year-old and mom to Ashby, 3 months, tells OK! how she did it.

On the exercise routine: Jeff’s workout regimen combines Pilates, tai chi, ballet and Olympic-style disc throwing. He and Nancy meet five days a week for one hour.

I start on the elliptical and get five minutes of warm-ups, and then we do twists, which is kind of like disc throwing. It gets your bum, your abs and your arms because you’re holding the ball at the same time. We do arms after that, but they alternate every other day. In between, I’ll go down and do push-ups. I’ll do another muscle group so that we’re not wasting any time. And the hour, believe it or not, goes by so quickly. I’ve [also] been running at least 30 minutes.
On the new diet: In the morning, it’s egg whites and Canadian bacon or Irish oatmeal. Then I’ll have a mid-morning snack: either almonds, yogurt or a piece of fruit. Lunch is usually some kind of chicken or fish with lettuce. I have a mid-afternoon snack — which we’ve since cut out — a few pieces of turkey, or some king of protein like peanut butter, and then dinner is chicken and vegetables.

On cheat foods: Nancy couldn’t resist her mother-in-law’s rice pilaf and Coke.

I confessed to Jeff that it’s really hard for me to cut out Coca-Cola. He said try to limit it to half a can a day.
On the weight loss: Nancy admits to have been "a little worried" about losing weight because of Hollywood standards.
I put on 30 pounds, and I’ve taken off 28. I want to get back to where I was before I got pregnant, and I’d like to [lose] five more. I’m fine with being a size six. I’m tall, and I’ve got hips. My husband [Keith Zubchevich] likes to see the curves. He made me feel good because I was walking around naked, and he’s like, ‘You’re looking good.’
On motherhood: It’s been the most wonderful experience. When I wake up in the morning and I see her, it’s like a Christmas present.

Nancy O’Dell returns from maternity leave; faces ‘big test’ on the red-carpet

NancyandashbyNancy O’Dell, 41, is back at work after her three month maternity leave following the birth of daughter Ashby Grace, 11 weeks, and she’s coming back at a busy time — she broke news of Halle Berry’s pregnancy and now must rush into preparing for the September 16th Emmy Awards.

However, interview questions aren’t on Nancy’s mind — instead, it’s her boobs! The Access Hollywood host is nursing Ashby for ‘at least six months — a year if I can do it‘ and is concerned about her duties as a mom and as a co-host colliding on the red carpet.

It’s my first big test. On the Emmys, you don’t get a break. I’ll go immediately from the red carpet to the one-on-one room with the winners. I’ll have to find time in a private place to pump. I can imagine having time for only one side and then going out lopsided. They’d definitely be different sizes.

There could be problems with my dress. I already told my stylist, ‘Don’t get thin material.’ You know, you have all these issues you have to deal with for red carpet gowns anyway — the microphone, having fabric that’s sweat proof. This is certainly another dimension.

Breastfeeding is a whole ‘nother profession. The skill that it takesto breastfeed. [laughs] It’s a whole other career in itself.

Nancy also has four more pesky pounds to lose before she’s back to her pre-pregnancy weight — she’s lost 26 of the 30 lbs she gained while expecting. However, she’s placing Ashby first and is being smart about her workout routine.

Maybe I’ll get the last four by Emmy time. Before I was pregnant, I had a bulging disc, so I wasn’t able to do the high-energy workouts I like to do. Four weeks after she was born, my doctor said it was OK to start back in. I’m trying to be so dedicated. I’ve also gone running up and down my driveway when I know it’s about feeding time so the baby won’t have to wait.

Introducing Ashby Grace Zubchevich

Nancy O’Dell introduces her daughter Ashby Grace, 9 weeks, in the latest issue of People. The Access Hollywood host says she’s been so enraptured with Ashby and motherhood that she has no idea who or what’s in the headlines anymore.
The other day someone said to me, ‘So what’s up with Lindsay Lohan?’ I said, ‘I have no idea, but if you want to know how to change a diaper, I’ll be happy to tell you!’
Nancy knows much more in addition to changing diapers. Husband Keith Zubchevich, 38, who has two sons, Tyler, 12, and Carson, 8, from his first marriage, calls his wife a "natural."
She knows by the way Ashby cries if she needs to be fed or have her diaper changed.
Keith chips in with some nice foot massages.
She loves Keith’s foot massages. He now has little feet and big feet to rub.
The 41-year-old, who says her daughter’s wardrobe "already rivals mine" with gifts from the likes of Halle Berry, returns to AH next month. She’s been getting camera-ready by nursing, working out thrice weekly and doing ballet-based exercises, resulting in a 24 lb. weight loss. That leaves six more pounds to go. As for a diet, Nancy says,
Breastfeeding is the best diet [plan]. I want to eat healthy for Ashby, so it’s easy to say no to pizza.
It’ll also most likely be easy to say no to more hours at work too since Nancy cannot stand being away from her daughter, whom she calls a "happy baby," who "loves to laugh at little animal sounds."
I keep flashing a little light on her at night just to look at her. It’s love like I’ve never felt before. My life is finally complete.

Nancy O’Dell accidentally reveals daughter’s name

Tags: Names, News, Video

Nancyodell1 While giving a tour of her nursery on tonight’s edition of Access Hollywood, host Nancy O’Dell announced — albeit by accident — that her baby girl, due in June, will be named Ashby Grace.  The slip-up occurred as Nancy showed viewers the slumber bear which is affixed to Ashby’s crib.

It makes womb sounds, so that Ashby will still think … Oops!  I just said her name!  Shall I go ahead and reveal it?

Nancy chose the name in tribute to her grandfather, who was also named Ashby.  The name is dual-gender — meaning strength, like the ash tree — and comes complete with certain alphabetical perks, Nancy noted.

We figure that with an ‘A’ name, she will have a chance to be first in line for some things.  At least where they don’t go alphabetically by last name.

The name ‘Grace’ runs in husband Keith Zubchevich’s family "and we both said from when we first met each other that if we had a little girl we would want Grace as part of her name," Nancy said.

Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell in Pregnancy Magazine

Pregnancy_cover_005357_cbbAccess Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell, 41, who is expecting a baby girl with husband Keith Zubchevich in June, is the cover model for the Mother’s Day issue of Pregnancy.  In a six-page spread in the magazine, Nancy models summer pregnancy looks and chats about her pregnancy and daughter-to-be. The new baby will join big brothers Tyler, 11, and Carson, 7, from her husband’s previous marriage. Access Hollywood will air behind the scenes footage of Nancy’s cover shoot this week.

On cravings: I was craving baked beans at the beginning, big time. All of a sudden, if I didn’t have some baked beans, I was going to go crazy. So we went to the store and bought 15 cans, and the craving lasted one day. So now I have 14 cans in my pantry. Also, I was craving animal crackers one time, but they had to be the kind in the circus box.

Surprises about being pregnant: The chivalry that’s out there for pregnant women — everybody’s just so incredibly nice. They’re just willing to help you carry anything. They open up all the doors. The other thing that has surprised me is how many times you have to go up in your bra size. I used to complain that I wanted a little more and a little more. Now I’m like, ‘OK, they can stop now. They don’t need to grow any more.’

Finding out the sex: We’re the kind of people, if somebody gives a gift, we’ve got to open it right then. We just really wanted to know. We have two boys, so we kind of wanted to be able to tell them, so they could prepare a little bit too.
