While back in Australia for a fleeting visit last month, Poppy Montgomery spoke to NW about upcoming motherhood and wanting her child to be a ‘little naughty.’ Poppy and boyfriend, Adam Kaufman’s son is due in late December.

On body changes: When you’re pregnant your body changes — like it or not. I have these enormous breasts which I always thought I wanted but now I realize I don’t.

Poppy hopes that she will be able to work until the baby arrives and return to Without A Trace soon after: I’m hoping to work all the way up until I go into labor and then, God willing, I can have a natural birth and go almost straight back to work. I love working on Without A Trace and I love my Without A Trace family.

On moving back to Australia: I would love to make my own films out of here but I always see myself living in both places. I’ll be sort of a "citizen of the world"! I want my baby to know where I’m from. My whole child and formative years were spent here – getting kicked out of every private school in Sydney.

Is Poppy worried about her son being naughty? — No, no. She thinks naughtiness is good.

A little naughtiness is a good thing – it shows there’s some spirit. But I don’t know if I’d want my child being expelled from as many schools as I was.

Without a Trace star Poppy Montgomery sat down for some baby talk withPeople this week. The 32-year-old Aussie is expecting her first child,a son, with boyfriend Adam Kaufman in December and credits hersister for making her biological clock tick.

It was [the furthest thing from my mind]! Until four monthsago. My sister is pregnant, so my boyfriend and I started talking aboutit…But I’m in my 30s – I didn’t think it would happen so fast.

The actress has just cleared her first trimester and bouts of morning sickness, which she likens to a hangover.

Certain smells – like bacon and eggs – just make you go, ‘Oh myGod!’ You know what it’s like? A hangover. And it lasts three months.

As for cravings, Poppy has been loading up on carbs and is trying to forgo junk food.

Eating [junk] is a really strong habit and it’s hard to undothat. But I am into bread a lot more. And I’m obsessed with Haagen DazDulce de Leche.

While Poppy still hasn’t gotten word onwhether not her pregnancy will be written into Without a Trace, shesurmises she could hide her bump pretty well if producers opt against it.

We carry files all the time, so there could just be strategically placed files and desks.

The crime drama has also made Poppy paranoid about kidnapping, she admits.

I’mthe worst! I’ll have to deal with my FBI issues before [giving birth].It’s a total neurosis. Who wants to put that on their kid?

Pregnant Australian actress Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace), 32, made an appearance on Channel Nine’s Today Show yesterday morning (Australian time). Poppy and her actor boyfriend Adam Kaufman announced last week that they are expecting their first child in December. While being interviewed on the show, Poppy slips up and announces the sex of the baby — it’s a boy!

Hosts: How far along are you? When are you due?

Poppy: Four and a half months. December. I’m not allowed to give the exact date…I’m keeping it a little secret.

Lisa: Are you close to Christmas? Mine  is on the 19th.

Poppy: I’m close to Christmas, I’m close to you  in fact…well he’s close to…oh see I just gave that away too. I couldn’t wait, I can’t even like keep secrets when I’ve bought someone a present and I tell them the week before when I got ‘em. So I had to find out, so we’re having a boy, which we’re really excited about!

And Poppy’s boyfriend, Adam, is thrilled.

Thrilled. Yes, [he is] really happy.
