Suri Cruise imagined in classic works of art

Tags: Ha ha

American_gothic_suriAnnie Leibovitz’s Suri Cruise portraits in Vanity Fair are important because they show us that the child does in fact exist and that she is in fact Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ genetic child.  Imagine if the Great Masters had been asked tocaptured Suri’s likeness?

Above is my favorite-  "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. Visit CBS ShowBuzz to see Andy Warhol, "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci, "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, and more.

Vanity Fair editor Jane Sarkin reveals why we haven’t seen Suri until now

Tags: News

When Jane Sarkin, Vanity Fair’s features editor, appeared on CBS’s The Early Show this morning about the infamous Suri Cruise photo shoot , she revealed why it took so long for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to release photos of baby Suri and why they didn’t just release photos to quiet rumors.

-Why didit take so long to show us the baby?
"The baby was born just as "Mission: Impossible III" was comingout. Tom was on this whirlwind press tower. He wanted to just get home,be with the baby, be with the children, his family and friends and theyweren’t really hiding the baby. They just didn’twant to release a photo right way. They were always planning on it butthen this whole controversy started, ‘Where is Suri? Why are theyhiding her?’ They were not hiding anyone. In fact, they were alwaysplanning on releasing the picture."

-Why not just release a photo and end the rumors?
"Whenall the controversy started, they just didn’t want to at that point.  They wanted to just stay home, take care of their familyand then, finally, I called and called and called and they said, ‘OK,can you come to Telluride next week?’ And we went and we were soexcited to be there."

Unfortunately, she did not mention why Tom and Katie have virtually sequestered the baby.

Behind the scenes of Suri’s Vanity Fair shoot

Tags: News

Jane Sarkin, Vanity Fair’s features editor, talked to CBS The Early Show co-anchor Rene Sylerthis morning about photo shoot behind the infamous Suri Cruise cover and photo spread.  She revealed her observations from the five day photo shoot in Telluride,CO, with Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, photographer Annie Leibovitz and of course, the fabulous Miss Suri Cruise.

Here are some choice tidbits.

-Tom and Katie gave them full access.
"It was incredible.  It was an open experience. Theylet us go wherever we wanted. We shot whatever we wanted. We were therefor five days. Annie Leibovitz and I did everything together. And itwas a really incredible experience for us. Tom has never allowed anyoneinto his private world like that and I don’t think he ever will again."

-Tom is a great dad and Katie is a great mom.
"Itwas amazing to see the biggest movie star in the world trying to cuddlehis little baby, feeding the baby, put the baby to sleep.  He’s a very hands-on father, and she is an incredible mother."

-Katie doesn’t have a full-time nanny and her stepkids Connor and Bella help out.
"She is such a hands-on mother. They have very little help in thehouse, which was another thing that was incredible.  Butshe does everything with that baby. Actually, Connor and Bella, Tom’schildren, are so helpful as well. They all chip in."

-Katie has been deeply hurt by the rumors about Suri and about her relationship with Tom.
"Katie actually took me asideand said ‘I want to talk to you privately about how all the rumors inthe press have really hurt me, hurt my family. Ijust want to be happy. I just want to take care of my children. I’mplanning a wedding. I’m so excited. I’m so in love with Tom. We’re sohappy together,’ and the rumors really hurt her."

Suri Cruise to make her official debut in Vanity Fair

Tags: Babies, Exclusive

Update:
We tried to get some more information from our source on the Suri Cruise issue of Vanity Fair but that place is locked up tight like Fort Knox!  It’s so insane!  You would think they’re printing state secrets instead of baby photos!

According to our source, "the actual press printing the magazine has been roped off and only certain personnel can even get close to it. All of the pages that do not meet the Vanity Fair approval (pages of magazines are approved by a spokesperson from the magazine prior to the job finishing) are being bound in heavy cardboard, and security guards are accompanying the employees to the shredder with them."

Originally posted August 26, 2006:
We will definitely see the first official photos of Suri Cruise in the October issue of Vanity Fair.  The photos were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

According to our source, a factory in Kentucky is printing the pages of the issue of this magazine this weekend.  In order to ensure that no photos are leaked, security guards are positioned throughout the entire factory.

There had been rumors about the photo shoot and the subsequent editing of the photos, including that though Suri looks like both Tom and mom Katie Holmes, is small, required a very long shoot (21 days) and that they required a lot of retouching.

We predict it will sell record numbers.  People have a love or hate relationship with Tom Cruise but they are dying to see his baby.  I’ve noticed that even people who deny interest in celebrity gossip want to know what’s up with Suri.

Will you buy the magazine?  Please note that while we are sure the images will be all over the internet (and probably before the magazine even hit newsstands), we will not be publishing them on CBB due to copyright rules.
