"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Jada Pinkett Smith and Liv Tyler on being working moms
Reign Over Me co-stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Liv Tyler spoke about what it was like working on the film with little ones back home to take care of. Jada says she was able to balance the two efficiently with help from husband Will and her mother looking after Willow, 6, Jaden, 8, and Trey, 14.
I have a great husband and a great mother. When I’m working, she’s helping me at home. At that particular time, Will wasn’t working so he could go pick the kids up and make sure they have all the chocolate cake they want for dinner [laughs and claps] ‘Yay, mommy’s working. Yay daddy!’ So I really think that’s how I’m able to do that.
As for Liv, Reign Over Me was the first film she made after having her son, Milo William, 2, with husband Royston Langdon, and she enjoyed her part-time shooting schedule.
I’ve had the great luxury of taking two years off from work which was amazing for me. I was so lucky I did that to be with my son. So, this was my first time back to work as a woman, a mom and I was a doctor, wow! [laughter]. It was great. I could go to set and work hard for a couple of days and then have a few days to be home.

Thandie Newton’s playdates with Jaden and Willow Smith
Thandie Newton took advantage of the downtime on The Pursuit of Happyness set by escorting her on-screen son, Jaden Smith, 8, his sister Willow, 6, and her own daughter, Ripley, 6, on playdates around the Bay Area.
I’d take them to the park, or we would go around San Francisco or swimming at the hotel. I got to know Jaden as one of my kids’ friends.
While Jaden has followed his parents, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, into acting, Thandie doubts Ripley and her 2-year-old daughter Nico will do the same, although they love visiting their mother on set.
No way. No, no, no. Nico doesn’t have any concept of what’s going on, but Ripley loves coming to my little house on wheels – as we call my trailer. It’s always stocked up with stuff for her – Quavers, KitKats, Bedknobs and Broomsticks on DVD – and she loves to hang out there. She feels comfortable. But anything else, no. She’s got stuff to do. It’s cool for Jaden – he’s home-schooled so they can move around. Ripley’s not. She loves her school. She’s got things to do. And she doesn’t want to come with me and sit around for hours on end while they set up the lights.
Thandie and her husband, director Ol Parker, have been married for nine years.
